Off to Marbella tomorrow morning for 10 days so fuck the lot of ye
Fookin hell, you really must want to avoid Dingle
Are ye off to Dingle on a stag?
Right job.
Off to the Czech lands shortly, Finland/Estonia in August, maybe Granada in November if I’m still in work.
Will your Czech trip clash with Limericks semi final or are you still contemplating staying around for it?
I´m gutted I´m missing it to be honest Mac but this is just about worth it.
In Granada at the moment SS**. Very lively spot but it´s absolutely scorching.
Heading to madrid in a couple of weeks for a few days. Anyone been?
Sledgehammer is the resident expert on Madrid but he hasn´t around these parts in a while
Looking into heading to America for a few days and possibly take in a couple of cities (namely New York and Las Vegas), are there any good operators out there that arrange multi-city trips?
How long in total are you going for Runt, would you consider renting a mustang or something and driving it
I’m thinking about only going for between 7 and 10 days, as that all I would be able to get off work, how long would the drive take? I’ve seen a couple of films where people have driven to Vegas (Fear and Loathing, and The Hangover) and they seemed to have a good laugh.
Think it is 2000 miles + so realistically probably about 4 days(6-8 hours hours driving a day)…mightn’t be a runner…flights from New York to Vegas are relatively cheap, wouldn’t be much more than 350 euro return
I think what I’d like to do is go direct to Vegas from Ireland, do 3/4 nights in Vegas, fly to NYC, another 4/5 nights and then back to Ireland.
Would any of the Americans on the board have any advice?
Would I be as well to just book a return flight to NYC with Aer Lingus, and then book a seperate return flight to Vegas from NYC? Obviously trying to minimize time hanging around the airport.
Book it all yourself Runt. Will work out far cheaper. Have a look at Delta, Virgin Atlantic or US Airways sites and choose the Multi-City option when booking. You’ll end up probably only paying an extra 100 for the internal flight from NY to Vegas or vice versa. NY Hotels are notoriusly expensive for what you get so I’d time it that you’re in NY during the week and Vegas at the weekend if that works with your schedule. Virgin Atlantic fly direct between Heathrow and Vegas so it saves you stopping off for 4 or 5 hours on the East Coast which can be good if you can handle a 10 or 11 hour flight.
Throw all the info into the Multicity option on ebookers or expedia and you’ll get an idea of the best way of doing it. If you book all flights with the same airline it should work out much cheaper than booking each individual flight with a different airline.
E mail the airline as well runty and ask them will they do a deal for cash…should work out cheaper
Mac knows the score here. Went to Vegas 5 years ago now (fucking hell, 5 years since cesc4 lost his passport in a strip club there) and cheapest option turned out to be flying with Delta to Atlanta and getting a connecting internal flight onwards to Vegas a couple of hours later.
Runt
I found trailfinders in Dawson st useful if you don’t want the hassle
of booking it yourself. They’d ne good to give advice on connect times
at airports etc. You don’t want to miss a connection because some of
the hovels the airlines will put you up in beggar belief.
Continental Airlines is your best bet if you want to do New York and
the West. You’ll fly to Newark, which is a very manageable airport and
has a direct train link to Penn Station (which JFK doesn’t).
Fly Jet Blue they have savage leg room on their planes. Don’t be going to any fooking agents or anything to book your trip.
