Its the end of the follow through of generations where the upcoming had at least some connection and carried some some sort of common goal to with them. My generation (x) have absolutely nothing in common with kids, from politics to religions to technology, the link has been completely severed.

I love how the far right still spend a few bob of their hard earned shekels in the only jobs left that the military age rapists havn’t occupied, in heading out foreign for a break.
I met an aul neo nazi type fella in Sweden on a jobsite who did nothing but complain to me about ‘those bloody immigrants’ (I’m white and western european so I’m exempt from his category) and getting to know him over the course of a year, he finally surrenders and announces that he’s moving to Thailand, as Sweden is gone to hell with all these immigrants. So, long story short, he’s going to become an immigrant in a land of people that aren’t white because of his internalised racism, white nationalism and anti-immigration views are making him leave.
One of the finest head-scratching moments at the hands of a meathead on my journey so far.

Look its not just this place, look at people in the public eye speaking out about gaza. Whats happening is wrong on so many levels. But ireland is an outlier in the west that supports Palestine, voicing that opinion to an international audience gets you attached to being anti semitic and supporting terrorism, while the opposite the irish opinion would say you are supporting genocide. Without scratching the surface both could be true, either way you’re wrong. Paddy wifi got a raw deal for supporting gaza, not taking away hes a cunt but hes said much worse on other topics. The problem is you have to have the ‘right’ opinion, that in itself is the issue when there is no right or wrong, someone will always oppose your opinion and instead of sparking a conversation, people get angry and it just becomes a shit fest.
Ill stick with sports as barney suggested, probably the best for everyone to avoid current affairs and politics tbh

What class of an absolute weirdo would read a site like Info Migrants? Hard to feel sorry for some people but it must be a depressing existence to be so vexed by an issue that you lose all rational and empathetic thoughts.

Yeah fair comment on the specific site. I guess I just mean the effort involved in researching a negative viewpoint is unhealthy.
Search terms used were “Current Swedish Immigration policy”. The original poster mentioned Sweden.
Just because you find the truth of what is actually happening out there uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s not actually happening. Genuinely bonkers how enshrined the singular viewpoint is on here with some people.

Good article on immigration from Fintan O’Toole (I know, I know) today. We have 20% immigrants apparently. Up from 17 a few years ago. Great news. Now if we could just encourage the awkward squad to emigrate to America or England or some such backwards banana republic we could be a great little country.
