Informative post to many, but that’s assuming that the main gripe of some Irish people is the €42 Million a month being spent on refugees (fleeing from war/trying to better their lives/playing the system) which it isn’t. The govt are awash with money.
When big numbers of men are being shipped into small rural places under the cover of night and are there forever with no explanation, then there’s a longer term sociological problem which is not going to go away. In some of the more recent cases, Annamoe for example when then the incoming people outnumber the existing people who live there, people are naturally anxious. There’s no plan, there’s no communication. It’s very childish to think that there’s not going to be problems for all coming.

The iron clad denial of people in the thread of Ireland’s appeal with exaggerated benefits to people without any identity documents/criminal/medical history to people coming in is very very odd and out of step with realities.
We advertised worldwide in 14 languages for people to come here with a pamphlet outlining that they would be taken care of. Documents irrelevant. Not many regions/countries have done that since the gold rush.
The only logical explanation is that it’s penance for the corporate tax rate, who knows? Schengen is being slightly argued against now my many but as usual we’re the last to cop on.

Multiculturalism in massly populated wealthy cities where people dip in and out and don’t know each other and don’t interact exists and can work (for good or for bad, depending on your view of community and values)
Multi-ethnicity enriches everyone over time, and is the way the way the world prospers and people learn.
Cut copy and paste mass hyper multiculturalism (in a tin pot rural country like Ireland) for the short-term economic benefit for the few pulling the strings erodes thousands of years of culture and people’s self consideration of safety and self and is to nobody’s betterment.
I made a comment last year that the effects of the govts decisions (maybe they had no choice?) of the last 18 months are more more defining and seismic than 1921 or anything after.
