Can you define what you mean by unvetted immigration? What is vetted immigration?
We’ve had posters here say they want to stop Ukrainian refugees coming here. We’ve had lots trot out the “unvetted” line. We’ve had lots of “there has to be a limit on refugees”. Lots of people on here have problems with refugees. They’d like to dress it up as “just asking questions”. Sure we know who the “just asking questions” crowd are.

There’s a good number of TFK lads on here that trot out lies, falsehoods and conspiracy theories regularly, with lots of oddball contrarian and barely concealed (or not) racist views. Large crossover with the TFK misogyny crew.
I don’t think you’re a part of it but I find your “unvetted immigration” line an odd one. You should know what it means or doesn’t mean. Also I’m aware you’re a big guy.
I would suggest, at a minimum, you produce some sort of valid identity document on arrival.
I’m very aware that there are seriously legitimate reasons why someone would destroy or carry a fake identity document to claim asylum but I don’t see how any of them apply on a Ryanair flight from Austria

So they presumably apply for asylum and go through the system and that sorts it out? Lots of problems with our asylum system but that’s its job, that’s what it’s there for. Just because we’re seeing more of this happening currently doesn’t make it groundbreaking, we’re an island, we don’t have irregular arrivals by land or sea (well very few anyway). This makes our job a lot easier than most EU countries.
Scaremongering about “unvetted immigrants” is just nonsense really. “They could all be rapists”. How would be know? Let’s call up the Taliban and ask them for their records on people fleeing Afghanistan will we?
Just to come back to this, there is no such thing as unvetted or unlimited immigration. So “questioning” it, when it doesn’t exist, does reveal an attitude, yes.

Thankfully my area is largely too affluent to be affected by these dangerous undocumented refugees. When vetting my daughter’s pre school it was comforting to find only good old Polish kids being the only foreigners. Nice white Europeans.

Most immigration is vetted also. That’s what visas and work permits and the like are for

As you can imagine, asylum decisions take time. They walk out to make their claim at the IPO building and then, somehow, never show up

As I alluded to above, there’s many problems with our asylum system. But that is the system.
It was estimated recently we had something like 30-50k illegal immigrants in Ireland. Most would have been legal but became illegal. McEntee’s amnesty brought a lot back into the system which was a good thing.
Imagine being so simultaneously arrogant and ignorant that you’ll tell a fella who’s literaral job it is in this area he’s wrong rather than concede a little bit

I agree. One of the good schemes. The vast majority had lived here and paid taxes here. The current English language study system is a disgrace and fails everyone who would even attempt to do it legitimately.
