I wouldn’t call it that really no. “Vetting” as I’ve seen it used seems to imply some sort of security or criminal record checks, I don’t think we do those on most people accepted for asylum. On these irregular arrivals, we have records of their arrival, that’s more than most countries have. The numbers are also minimal compared to what most other countries experience. So I think it’s scaremongering. About foreigners.
Is there any stats on the numbers arriving that don’t turn up for their interview or whatever’s next, or that disappear out of the direct provision system?
I’ve no problem with anyone disagreeing with me it’s the virtue signalling that you go on with I find funny more than anything else. You showed your true colours with the vaccine mandate but you moved on from that one fairly quickly when it became more virtuous to call for no limits to how many refugees we can take. Vaccine status be damned then

It was over 90% for Albanian arrivals a few years ago anyway. I don’t have up to date info though.
Our “record of their arrival” is a name, DOB and nationality that, for all we know, they made up on the spot, on their journey from an unknown airport.

And there is no limit on the number of refugees we will take. It’s a matter of international law, you can’t refuse asylum to refugees. There’s no buts with this one. This isn’t virtue signalling, it’s just a fact. You should look a few of them up sometime.

I’m not sure what you mean by much of that, but I never labelled everyone racist. I do think there are a lot of lads on here with barely disguised (or not in some cases) racist views. There’s lads here who regularly come out with all sorts of conspiracy theorist nonsense and others who make up facts or just spout any old shit at all. None of that stuff is reasonable debate.

In fact, Ireland has no obligation to take in refugees as, along with Denmark, it has an opt-in or opt-out clause on justice and immigration measures under the Lisbon Treaty.
Nobody here has ever said Ireland should stop taking in refugees. A temporary halt to get controls on proceedings was suggested, while it was summer and the chief wokist has spent the last 6 months losing his shit
