Stop posting on threads.
Please.
I’d be very surprised if anybody here hadn’t referred to a baby as “it” at some stage in their lives.
Amazingly enough, this is because babies don’t look like boys or girls or males or females, but like babies.
I wouldn’t let it worry you.
Also can anybody who ever played “you’re it” and slapped somebody on the back in a school playground please apologise for heartless dehumanisation.
We need to go back to the days when babies were treated as proper humans - to the days of the mother and baby homes, and stolen for adoption, or buried in mass graves in sewage tanks. We were a proper country then. Yeah.
You’re the sort of lad that’s always looking for “solutions”.
Ooooft
There’s an ignore function if youre getting upset.
Same for you Princess.
Yeah that’s exactly what my post meant. Jesus wept.
There are a good few lads here who would like to go back to those days.
Anyway, have you ever somebody “is it a boy or a girl”?
I presume you haven’t?
Name them
They generally name themselves.
No that’s a very serious accusation you’ve made there. Fellas wanting to return to a time when the animals that murdered children were in charge.
Colm Parkinson would be one of those type of people in the public eye. He openly encourages people to vote for a far right party, Aontu, whose reason for existence is to see the Mullahs of the Catholic Church back in power.
And there are a lot of lads here who hang off people like him.
Now, have you ever asked anybody “is it a boy or a girl?”
No I don’t think I have (mainly out of disinterest in other peoples lives)
Why do feel the need to lie?
If somebody asked about a baby, “is it a boy or a girl”, what would be your reaction?
I don’t know. I do think the use of the word “it” is different in that instance
So if you like somebody who uses “it” about a baby it’s grand, but if you don’t like somebody who uses it about a baby they’re a heartless dehumaniser. OK.
Gotcha.
I find it remarkable that people ridicule the notion that the deliberate, targeted use of misgendering trans children or adults in order to bully them could be in any way a problem.
And then they turn around and say Paul Murphy is “dehumanising” his baby by referring to “it”, while also admitting that the use of the word “it” about a baby is actually fine.
Again that’s nothing even related to what I was saying.
I’ve no skin in this game really and Paul Murphy is free to do as he pleases, but I wouldn’t like to assign ‘it’ to my own kids personally, until they are old enough to make that decision for themselves. I feel I would be painting a target on their back for their school years for bullying and harassment from their peers. We all know what school was like; those that are different, from a poorer household or stand out from the crowd are targeted by arsehole kids that are by products of the environment they are brought up in.
“Is it a boy or a girl” would seem like a question that is a means to an end. To establish something more about the subject in question. “Is it an IT” is probably a question you wont hear too many people ask.
