It doesn’t have to be a case of either/or.
People make mistakes. Sean has paid his dues and done his time, as was correct.
Now the frothing right wing cancel culture mob want to see him cancelled forever.
That’s very intolerant of them.
I think most objections to Sean being re-engaged by RTE centres on him having a decent innings and doing ok over the years.

Doesn’t seem like it to me. Seems to be more of a hook that the “RTE is the virus” crowd have decided to hang their tinfoil hats on.
Sean was good on the radio, I’m sure he’s better than most of the radio 1/Newstalk lineup.

I think it’s that exactly. He’s on an RTÉ pension so somebody else deserves a run at it. He was good at what he did and way ahead of Claire Byrne but a person retiring from a public sector job and being re engaged in same job does annoy people
