Marty is a journalist?
Not my cup of tea but many would say he’s a national treasure, the older generation still rely on RTE to a huge extent, the time will come when sweeping changes will be needed but it’s not yet, most of the kids that I deal with never ever watch television, most of their houses don’t have a radio

Wow, down almost 32 million in the last 4 years, no wonder they had to cut D’arcy.

Well I guess a lot of it is down to the financial scandals and the lack of license checks, it also gets worse as people see so many others aren’t paying so wonder why should they.
They’re still paying lads a fortune.
The likes of Darragh Maloney, Derek Mooney and George Lee stealing a living on €200k a year.

RTE had 270 employees earning more than six figures at the organisation in 2020.
That number grew to 315 in 2024 and again to 368 in 2025, a 36 per cent increase since 2020
Close on 400 people in RTE are paid more than 100k pa
The ‘talents’ earnings - the top 10 or whatever are merely a distraction from the real scandal
