Irish people who have a love for cricket and have been involved in the game would invariably support England. They are our closest neighbours and invariably just about every cricket club in Ireland would have close relations with certain clubs in England who they would visit/host over the years.
The type of Pom bashingyou see on this site and elsewhere in this country, invariably comes from those who have never played or being involved in the game, or from those who only embraced the game after moving to a cricket playing country, where to be seen Pom bashing was most probably a means of social acceptance.

Is there anyone on here that is actually a member of a cricket club in Ireland?
Heartwarming stuff. Hoggard is an incredibly alright sort too. In Flintoff’s autobiography, he mentions the staid, distant and unwelcoming England and Wales dressing room he was subject to when he made his debut. He said one of the main things he wanted to do, other than concentrate on improving his own game obviously, was to create an environment where new players felt comfortable and weren’t inhibited by their surroundings. You’d always see him having banter and drawing everyone together in the warm ups, in the field etc. His own skills didn’t just aid the team, it was his personality that made others feel better about themselves and their game too. He’s an English and Welsh legend in my opinion.

Evo, just say that you’re talking about me you idiot, instead of trying to look clever.
I have been watching cricket since I was 12 mate. I have been a member of our local cricket club for years and my son currently plays for them. What involvement have you got in the game?
As to the Pom bashing, I’m happy to bash them in any sport, not just cricket.
So do you support the English soccer team as well?
