The 2026 Six “Nations”

Maybe in hindsight he should have done the season in Connacht but once Farrell picked him it was hard for Leo to do anything else…

Classic negotiation tactics. Sure Saracens havent a pot to piss in. Likely to go the same way as Wasps

Australia could do worse than look at Farrell

Sure Schmidt is doing a fantastic job there🤣

Big risk here is that his youngest goes with him and plays for England. He’s well embedded within the Irish system at the moment.

Did you not see the improvement in the Aussies post 23 under Schmidt?

They were slightly unlucky to not win the lions tour of go very close with the injury crisis at ten.

They’ve a fabulous team coming along.

Not sure when but ex Irish guy is taking over from Schmidt next year.

Yes we should keep him as national manager so his son stays to play in the Leinster senior cup.

That makes an awful lot of sense,

Oh no, his son will be finished school by the time of the World Cup.

Now it’s a reasonable request.

Pack Farrell and sexton off and get some proper coaches in.

Theres zero evidence of this. The 2025 Aussie team under Schmidt is the worst in living memory. First time since 1958 that they lost all 4 matches in their Autumn tour of the Northern Hemisphere.

They re a complete and utter rabble despite your fanboy protestations

Lads on here see a few highlights of Lachie McConvict running in tries against the Fijian Drua and conclude the Aussies are still the team of 1999 :man_shrugging:

Who is he where does he play? Given his father and brother played for England is he really likely to prefer to play for Ireland on the back of spending a few years here?

QED, mate. Easy look good when playing against statues that don’t tackle. Different story when they came up here against the northern hemisphere teams, who actually aren’t even a vintage bunch. So that’s the reality of the Aussie rugby team in 2025, under the stewardship of Schmidt

The same South Africa who humiliated all the northern hemisphere teams in November

He plays hooker for Blackrock. He seems to support Ireland anyway, he’s been here most of his life.

South Africa lost that game because they weren’t tuned in at all. They played lads out of position, rolled out a load of absolutely mad tactical experiments, and on top of that a fair chunk of the Aussie tries were off intercepts. So yes, fair enough, Australia won that game , no one’s denying the scoreboard, but if you’re hanging your entire argument on one match like that, it’s fairly pathetic stuff.

Yes, Oz did win that game under Schmidt, but the problem is they haven’t driven on one bit.

Since then, they’ve been rolled by four Northern Hemisphere teams including Italy, solid enough, fair play to them, but hardly world beaters.

Ireland hammered Oz as well, and that’s after you were only saying yourself that Ireland weren’t exactly flying under Farrell.

So if we’re being honest about it, the evidence is overwhelming. One isolated win doesn’t outweigh months of poor performances, limp attack, and a complete lack of progress. You really need to tone down the Australia and Schmidt fanboying, because all the hard evidence points the other way.

One win in their last 8 games against the Japs says it all really.

This jars somewhat with the rest of his narrative alright.

It’s complete shite.

Australia had a three test tour against the lions. They were absolutely wrecked after it. They put in an excellent showing in the tri nations but you could tell by the end of the last New Zealand game in October they were beginning to tire and they were losing bodies too.

Your man comes across as completely clueless and reading too much into games at the end of a very long season.

They came to Europe in 2024 and beat England and should have beaten Ireland too.

They also actually played ok in France this November as well.

Remember in the 2023 World Cup they lost to wales. They were matching a four team combo of the home nations last summer over three games in 14 days in 2025. That takes an awful lot out of players.

The Aussies are coming with a serious team. They’ve proper elite players all over the field. If they sort 9 and 10 imo they’ll win the World Cup.

Anybody that can’t see the remarkable improvement under Schmidt must not follow the game at all.

And if you look back at the all conquering South African team in 2021 post the lions tour they played Australia twice and lost to them both times. Beat the argies twice and lost one out of two games v NZ.

They came up to Europe and only played three
Games in November. Beat wales with a try late on and lost to England. Beat Scotland easy. So not their usual standards.

If you read anything into the Aussies results after
Lions tour you are clueless imo. They have serious players all over the field. Need to sort 9 and 10 but if they do they’ll take an awful lot of stopping.
