The 32nd Dáil Eireann

Agreed we will finally have a left and a right.

So, will this require a special Fianna Fail ard fheis?

So it would appear.

So one third of the country voted for FF to get FG out, another third voted for FG to keep FF out, so the best thing to do is put them both into power together. Democracy is great.

They deserve each other.

Do we deserve them though?

Yes

Sharpen the pencils lads to go again.
They will only get together to keep out SF. But they are too wrapped up in their own site. By default if they go again, they will inadvertently put pressure on SF to partake in government in the 3rd Dail

its a nonsense that the 3 centre right parties are too proud to govern together

It’s actually the definition of democratic, PR.

I’m pretty sure only once have FF got over 50%, you could make your line of argument for pretty much every election depending how you want to skew it.

Assuming SF come out with roughly the same number of seats, they will have absolutely no excuse.

Fianna Fail set to reject the proposal

#shenanigans

Shame on them. Shame. First they ruin the country. Now they refuse to adhere to the will of the people. This should be the end of them. Once and for all.

Bad move. High risk. FG have played it well. Martin to try and seduce Gerry next time round

In the tennis match for popularity and high moral groudn that has developed betweem FG and FF the ball is now firmly in FF’s court.

If they accept the proposal from FG they are in the shit as they will allow FG to claim the victory and risk being cast as the smaller party in the the coalition.

The smart thing to do would be to fire their own return and ask for some guarantees that a number of populist decisions will be taken, so they can claim credit for them in any future election, like abolishing Irish Water and having a referendum to Repeal the 8th Amendment. They’d then be a position to participate in Government and would likely to able to pull it asunder in 17/18 months time with their own front bench nicely developed and new candidates ready to roll across all constituencies.

To just give in and agree to what FG have on the table now could finish them off for once and for all.

Fianna Fail have been offered the chance to play senior hurling by their bigger blueshirt brothers.

They’ve run away crying, afraid of their collective shites.

Fucking pussies.

Shitbags.

Discussions have yet to take place

The issue here is that I doubt FF’s core membership are too keen on changing abortion.

Indeed. I was just using it as an example of a populist move that would gain them some younger voters and show that they’re moving from the right.

You can replace it with something a little less extreme. Killing Irish water is the main thing to hitch their wagon too anyhow.
