Can Aodhan make it back in the bearpit?

I’ve a feeling Finian McGrath might find himself in difficulty this time.

For a smart guy, Jim O’Callaghan is a loose cannon in the political field. He’s probably forced an election FF don’t want or need right now.

Ò Riordan will. As will ged Nash in louth. I’d say Penrose, ò Sullivan, Burton and Kelly are in grave danger. If Kelly hangs on There’ll be a lovely battle for supremacy within the party with AoR I’d say.

AoD?

Yes. I’ll be putting my kids creche fees on it if the price is anything. If he loses the fucker can look after them.

Fixed. Obviously I meant your old chum Aodhán

What makes you think he is a smart guy?

I think he has a very good chance, but who did you think loses out?

Bruton is a cert, SF will surely get one, Haughey will almost certainly get back.

That leaves McGrath and Broughan.

O’Riordan won’t get in

Will John Halligan get re-elected in Waterford do you think?

No matter what Jim O’Callaghan ever achieves in politics - bringing down a Government, becoming Taoiseach - he’s always going to be merely known as Miriam’s brother.

I doubt it.

Why? He got very close last time with labour as the most toxic they’ve ever been. He polled relatively high on first preference but was fucked on transfers. I think he’s been working his ass off in his constituency and would be close enough anyway. Broughan is nearing the end and McGrath will suffer from being government. Definite room for improvement there imo.

He is a barrister :fishing_pole_and_fish:

My sources are telling me Leo gave full backing to Fitzgerald at the Parlimentary Party meeting to great applause.

Brought?

Kelly will get in

I just don’t feel he’ll get the votes and he’s transfer toxic

You’d hardly believe that Broughan is changed to brought by predictive text?
