So to summarise so far
The then justice minister Frances Fitzgerald is emailed legal strategy to discredit Maurice McCabe at the O Higgins. Tusla all the while have a file open on McCabe purporting that he sexually abused kids. The media cheerleaded by the indo publish several articles to also undermine McCabe. The same indo that are now fully behind FG. Frances fitzgerald changes her story 5 times and gives a non credible version of events. Charlie Flanagan also gives a scarcely believable story too. It is clear that the plan was to save whatever tiny shred of credibity the guards have left and McCabe would be thrown to the wolves. McCabes sin was to shine a light on the stinking cesspit that is AGS. And SF are getting filleted even though McGuinness is in the cemetry and Adams is on the way out.
What people dont realise is that this strikes at the very heart of the transparency of all govt departments not just justice. The lengths they will go to to manipulate, subvert and deflect. Can anyone really say they trust this rabble?

Here’s the email - hardly detailing a legal strategy and doesn’t mention the specific offence. It does however say that the DPP recommended no prosecution on the matter and that the minister had “no function” relating to the matter.
I don’t doubt that the whole Garda whistleblower affair is a cesspit but I don’t believe this email is the smoking gun you’re trying to make it out to be.

There is a really good cover on today’s Examiner showing the "collateral damage " politically , in the cops and in DJustice .
It is some mess and the really scary thing here is how long this has gone on for and why it has gone on so long .
