I’ve never heard of a 110 tournament, games take too long I suppose
The variation in game lengths would prevent it. One game could be over very quick while another table might go on for hours. It’s not like poker where you can up the blinds either, it just has to play out.
My tip for anyone playing 110 is if you are well down and 6 rubbers deep. Eat the scorecard. Works every time .
The forfeit style betting structure of 110 would rule out playing for turkeys etc. If you fail to make your bid you have to contribute a predesignated amount to the pot.
Did you ever play don? That’s a great game only really played in Cork.
Never even heard of it. Whats it involve
Trump based strategy game, more complicated than 110 but not quite bridge. They go mad for it in the Northside pubs. We played a lot in the UCC common room.
I scooped the pot at the Christmas 45s night last night. Hardly got a card on the earlier lower value hands, but as the night went on and the pots got bigger Lady Luck intervened and a few 5s found there way into my hand. I wasn’t found wanting.
7 is some number to be playing 45s. You’d want to be like Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man to keep track of what was going on and there was all sorts of bollick acting as well, with lads taking your dealers trick and the like.
7 Fuck that must have taken a while. Nearly every card in play? What could you throw away 2?
No throwing away in our 45s. You play what you are dealt.
Oh ya? A lot not in play so.
17 of 52.
Using the joker so. I can’t condone that
Are you an accountant of some description?
Of course you know that
I don’t think I’v ever played 45 where you were allowed to throw away cards and replace them?
All this time the west limerick lads are discussing the game on here is this the first mention of it?
I think Julio just got a bit confused. There are no cast aways in 21, 41, 45, that I know of.
In fairness he is usually drunk
He’s let himself down badly here. And he lecturing @cluaindiuic last week about strategy and the likes
