The next thing you have to do is calculate the values of hand which you should have before you call say 15 in 110. So say greater than 400 youāve a 70% chance of making 15
Iād love to tell some old lad that Iād an 82% chance of making 20 after they roar at me for not making a call.
Why not? Joker is always in 45 or 110 in Cork anyway.
Best advice to a newcomer to 110 whoās worried about the ire of the old timers is to make sure to poke strong if youāre second in, that will bring a world of shit down on you, and never hold back in the hope of winning a snakey trick at the end. You only learn by playing and being berated.
Oh and 45 is for kids, if you have the time and numbers 110 is far superior.
Alas, I havenāt played 45/110 in years and it doesnāt look on the cards in the near future ā¦ Iāve never played 45 for money - what way does the betting go? Is it just a straight up pot ?
Only above in the Nire. There was an awful row one night between my uncle from the Nire and my father not from the Nire when the uncle produced a joker with a flourish to trump an ace of hearts laid by my father. The row was never settled and we never played cards in my uncles house again.

Great thread. Iv played 110 a bit but donāt ever remember it being that popular. Is it more a pub game or would fellas be playing 110 for the Xmas turkey in the hall ?
