Very quiet build up to this year’s festival round here, little or no coverage of the regionals.
I’ve had a quick scan of this year’s contenders and my early favorite is the Ohio Rose Kelsey Higgins. Will do proper scan tomorrow.

The one thing I really love about Germany is carnival because although a lot of foreigners think the Germans are kinda stiff I’m sure we have the best carnival parties on earth. It is called the fifth season and everybody no matter what age or profession they have gets masqueraded and starts to party together because these are the five days a year you can be superman, a banana or who ever you want to be.

I have boycotted this competition after yet another year where a Limerick candidate has failed to make the finals.
Early efforts have failed to turn up a social networking site for Kelsey.
Anyone else find the website a bit awkward to navigate? Why can’t they just have all the contenders on one page? Or am I missing something and there are still some regionals to be decided?

Leitrim’s Edwina Guckian was favourite to win it a while back. She is big into the sean nós dancing which is said to be a big draw. She beat off competition from a lovely Mohill lady in the county final a couple of months back.

She looks fine and healthy, thriving you might even say.
Edwina is tremendous in the local community. She is involved in all good causes and organises ceilis and the likes. I really hope she wins.
In fairness look at the fuckin yoke they chose to represent us! was alot better than her which would have made it.
20 years on from their bitter battle to win the right to host the 2000 Olympics, Manchester (Marie McDermott) and Sydney (Fiona O’Sullivan) will fight it out for the ultimate prize.
