Does salt really work to kill weeds on paved driveway? We did the chemical job a while back and nearly got 2 years from it but want a more natural way… what salt product am i after ?
It’ll just slow them down.
It won’t kill them or clear them…
It’s either Roundup (glyphosate) or get down on your knees.

I put in two beds when doing front drive summer before last. Among the plants, i put in two of these
They are an incredible colour this year but more impressive is the amount of bees. The plants are alive with bees; its as tho the plant itself is buzzing such is amount of bees in them.

Is it a caenothus by any chance. They grow pretty big over the years - see post 1878 above.

It is indeed a ceanothus impressus. Doubt we’ll get to that size but they are maginificent in full colour
You’re also correct about the numbers of bees - there’s and endless buzz emaninating from it.

Finally got round to a fire in winter. A very enjoyable pursuit, with myself and herself having a grand drink outside in the (not very freezing) cold, watching the flames. I’ve been gathering fallen branches from the huge Eucalyptus outside the house for months and when they’re dried, they burn slowly and make a great fire.
Naturally, the metal fire pit is one I found someone throwing out, another bargain.
