Yes they were a very good band. That Paisley Underground scene was very good.
The Bangles were part of that originally werenât they?

They were indeed and Green on Red, the Long Ryders and Thin White Rope, all of whom I still listen to. They sort of opened the door for REM who werenât part of the scene but werenât dissimilar. There was also a cow punk scene at the time too of which scene Jason and the Scorchers were the most prominent. REM were probably between the two scenes.
Probably my favourite Krautrock song now. Wahn by Tangerine Dream. Five minutes of madness.
And the final one of the night. Popol Vuhs Nosferatu soundtrack. With another classic Through Pain to Heaven. Swedish black metal band Opeths walk on music.
Having a nice night of record listening here too. New Arab Strap followed by âSteve McQueenâ
Itâs probably my favourite time of music in retrospect. The Flying Nun scene in New Zealand was around the same time too and the likes of The Smiths starting off too.
The Chills were on Flying Nun if I recall and were a fairly decent band.
The Bats were also on Flying Nun.
They were. The Clean and The Bats were my favourite.
Actually The Verlaines as well.
Last one for tonight. Stratosfear by Tangerine Dream. Contains Invisible Limits sampled to great effect by DJ Shadow on Endtroducing.
Iâm here with the missus listening to Spotify on a speaker. Mainly pop stuff but I try to throw in the odd âcrustyâ (as she says) song.
Iâve moved onto Reward from Cate Le Bon. Think youâd like if you havenât heard before.
Oh yes!!
This arrived today @farmerinthecity
Lateish Era Can but with an early era Can vibe.
No discernible songs. A six sided monster Cosmic Jam. Or Monstrum Kosmische Marmalade as the Germans would say.
A similar type improvised guise going on as another German concert of a similar time by a jazz pianist?

Yes indeed. Same year in fact.
Listening to Tago Mago here by Can. Listened to Ege Bamyasi and Soon over Babaluma last night. Enjoyed Soon over Babaluma more than I had ever done before. Connected with it for the first time.
Monster Movie is still my favourite.

Iâve only ever picked up two Can albums. Tago Mago on CD in my student days, Iâd say about 20 years ago and Ege Bamyasi on LP this year. Must check out Soon over Babaluma next.
Other than that, Iâm only really familiar with a couple of Can tunes on this. Saw Damo Suzuki a few times live as he seemed to spend a fair bit of time around Ireland years ago.
