The Anti American Football thread

One of the greatest bandwagons of all time.

I don’t understand it…it’s the classic sheep fanboy sport…buying into the hype of the Superbowl…stomach churning to be honest.

Fuck up ye cunts.

Are you a Cleveland Browns fan pal?

It’s just a great game mate, if you’ve ever spent time in the US during the season you can’t help it, I’ll admit to bandwagonning to an extent because I hadn’t followed much for a few years before this forum gave it a new life for me. I guarantee you one thing, if you went to an NFL or elite college game you’d understand.

I just dont get the fascination with it…particularly with the fact that no one on the board has ever had any real participation in the game.

Its a strange one for me anyway…Some lads here are obsessed with it.

You could say that about the majority of TFK and all sports.

What are you trying to say? When have you been involved directly with an EPL team for example?

I couldnt give a bollocks about the EPL…I just watch it for a bit of entertainment…difference is I have played the game at club level underage etc in Limerick.

Still enjoy playing it socially twice a week…can you say that honestly about American football or has Fox Sports or peer pressure gotten the better of you?

So you should only enjoy sports that you play or have played? Is this what you are saying here?

I’m just calling out a bandwagon franchise sport as I see it pal.

Isn’t it great?

It does me no harm so I just ignore it but tis gas the lads pulling the stomach out of themselves about the fantasy NFL and the superbowl could be the first in slagging off the rugby. Gas tickets so they are.

Have never watched an American football match (is match the correct terminology for it?) bar watching the Super Cup/Bowl final in D2 a few years back when they had a late extension and I was after stepping off a flight from the UK.

Don’t have a clue what a segunda is and don’t have any interest in finding out. Can’t understand why they list the away team first either.

In saying that Friday Night Lights is a terrific show so I would therefore consider myself a Dillon Lions fan. In Coach Taylor I trust.

Loins! Loins! Loins!

Lads poking fun at American Football…on an American Football board!

You couldn’t make it up :joy: :joy:

I’m just asking the question, it needed to be said.

You really couldn’t :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

All the anti football fans are lads that have only ever made it as far as Kilkee or London on their holidays … The type of lads that if they can’t see spuds on the menu they feel out of their depth. Some of us have worked in the states for a period and enjoyed the culture. Don’t be lashing out because you think travelling is watching the EPL in an Irish bar in the UK.
