âA good style of rugbyâ what does this mean? What international side plays a good style of rugby? New Zealand play the best style of rugby in my opinion. We played them Saturday night and had very similar offensive stats to them. Missing our number 9 and 12. We also won the game.
South Africa and Scotland played a great game the other day anyway
Ireland defended brilliantly the other night, nullified New Zealand totally for most of it. Their offensive stats werenât good and neither were Irelandâs offensive stats
Scotland havenât won a six nations since 1999 and South Africa havenât won a rugby championship since 09. Scotland v South Africa was a great game to watch in a similar fashion to the 2013 all ireland hurling was agreat to watch. Because both teams attacks were on top. The defences were pourous, lots of mistakes which meant for loads of attacking plays. Ireland v New Zealand was a ridiculous standard of game. With almost no mistakes. Defences at that level are so good it normally relys on a mistake or a piece of genius from a player to score.
Well thatâs my point. Ireland are one of the best teams in the world yet rarely do anything entertaining going forward unless theyâre playing someone shite. The sport shouldnât reward teams who play like that and when it gets to World Cups the teams with a bit of flair generally do better like in 2015 and 2011
Wait, is this fella Irish or British? Iâve jumped on board the ruby train after countless posts banging on about a united 32 county Irish team â Was I sold a pup @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy?
No thatâs a total misconception. Ireland play a fanatastic brand of rugby. They scored 4 tries to 1 against your beloved Scotland in March. When the best sides in any sport tend to meet they tend to cancel each other out.
+1. Easy to play good stuff against shit teams. Argentina played wonderful rugby scoring 4 tries in the 2015 1/4 final against some pub team, but when they came up against a good team in the semi they didnât score one try.
