The Anti-Rugby Football Thread

So 1992 and 2008 didn’t sell out despite containing some of the biggest clubs and players in world football?
Did Irish teams play to full stadiums in the European rugby cup finals? I would only ever go to a rugby match that I could walk to but this debate is being dominated by the rubbyheads.

Munster didn’t sell out their first final iirc.

Correct. Was close to 70k there so about 10k off capacity.

They had not properly tiered off Twickenham yet so think it was more like 75k

That was an amazing day . Northampton won the Cup but Munster won the hearts and minds of the people of Europe . A movement was born that day .

People remarked that the Fields of Athenry was sung at Murrayfield on Saturday . The song became part of this occasion from 2000 . A bit like Abide with me at FA Cup Final . I personally don’t like the FOA .

There is an ad in the paper this morning pushing tickets to Friday’s pro12 semi final at the 18,000 capacity RDS Arena.

:grinning:

teams in league 1 in England are bigger than Leinster

So do we have a definitive answer? Is soccer more popular than rugby?

soccer?

you are vile

Answer the question.

Soccer??

The cost and ease of travel as well as disposable income in today’s world are a far cry from the 60’s and 70’s. Typical apples and oranges comparison from @Tim_Riggins.

Answer the question, mate.

I don’t understand the question

I know you’re a bit thick but you’re not that thick.
