The humble Mikado gets a big thumbs up from me, the only criticism I would have is the coconut tends to get stuck in the teeth. But thatās more a personal gripe.
Ive moved onto foxes ambers and crinkles. Theres no cream but it has the original taste of the biscuit and chocolate in a classic. Your thoughts on these other options
I havenāt tried them yet Art. I will sample ASAP and revert with my findings
Ah fuck ya.
I was coming on here to ask that exact question.
Co-incidentally my own team Forest are nicknamed āThe Garibaldiā after Giuseppe Garibaldi who unified Italy in 1861. They took red as their colours in 1865 in honour of the colours worn by Garibaldiās army. The biscuit is obviously also named after him, produced in his honour after his visit to England in late 1861.
Youāre welcome.
Because you started buying the cheap Aldi/Tesco own brand ones. You get what you pay for
This thread started promisingly but @Fran has made some obscene calls the longer itās gone on. Endorsing horrible, stale old offerings like Mikados and Fig Rolls. What a cunt.
It is all a matter of taste, pal
The mass production of custard creams has led to the introduction of an inferior low quality biscuit. The 2 biscuit layers which form the sandwich are dry and the custard cream centre is scarce and very bland.
You have no appreciation of tradition or taste. Get the fuck out of here
@Fran Iāve just sampled a McVities lemon Jaffa Cake Bar as an accompaniment to a cup of tea and found it to be most acceptable.
Your views?
@Fran, foxās ambers are to be avoided. Very disappointing considering that other members of the family are very tasty indeed

Interesting, I havenāt come across them before, more of a confectionary item than a biscuit but certainly eligible for inclusion in this thread.
@corner back , appreciate the update on the ambers. Iām considering offering you the position of deputy biscuit expert on this thread. @Mark Renton 's performance to date has been very disappointing
Rockyās - biscuits or bars? Despite them being individually wrapped I would call them buscuits. Iām sure some would even class them as biscuit bars but they would fall in the biscuit category for me.
Just having a couple of Rocky Molten Caramels here with a mug of tea

The official classification is biscuit bar but anoraks like myself will always classify them as biscuits.
The caramel ones are a tremendous little snack with a cup of tea

If Her Majestyās government doesnāt class a Jaffa Cake as a biscuit, then neither should we.
