The Battle for Liam 09
Ronan Fallon out for the Dubs on Sunday according to Newstalk. Reccurring injury apparently.
Could Antrim pull off an upset?
Think Fallon has a metatarsel injury, the dubs were throwing money at it in order to fix it, got him custom made boots with special plating and were sending him for cryotherapy…

It is worth bearing in mind that all three seasons he was over Clare they flopped first time out in the championship despite decent league form leading into these games…

I fancy Antrim to upset them. The Dubs are almost as big a set of chokers as Galway. They’ve yet to win a game of note where it was put up to them.

think Antrim are +6 on the handicap…well worth at bet

Different set of circumstances with Dublin though. Clare had won Munsters and AIs not too long before he took over. Dublin have to make a mark in Leinster rather than opting for the qualifier route. Losing to Antrim would be an awful blow.
Could (but shouldn’t) happen, the Glensmen have nothing to lose going into this. Wonder will any of the Dub football supporters bother with the hurling?

Daly will have the troops rightly up for this one, cannot see Antrim beating us.

Ah sure go on, once more:

I am just saying it is worth bearing in mind that he hadn’t his team right/sharp enough three years in a row come first round of the championship and i have the feeling that the same might happen again…

Although they might have just about enough to see off antrim

5/1 outright would be more my fancy but I’ll have a bit at +6 as well

I’d be more interested in the hurlers anyway, I’ll definitely be going in early

I think the +6 is fairly solid but have the feeling that the dubs might just edge it…

still 5/1 is well worth a nibble

Ladbrokes go +8 at 10/11. Boyles go +7 at evens. Shop around Puke - don’t always go with powers.

just looked up powers for convenience sake mac…Wouldn’t place a bet with them cunts…

I am quite fond of ladbrokes myself

Good advice right there.

I also think Antrim are way overpriced / underestimated.

Just go with oddschecker - tis as handy

Be careful what you wish for - Tipp 2-22 Cork 0-25 AET

When Clare want ye it’s yerselves that should be fucking careful.

On the Dublin count I place my faith entirely in Clarecastle hurling. I’d respect Antrim but Dublin will hurl the shit out of them.

Saw Antrim earlier on in the league against Laois, they’re a fine side, nothing to stop them hurling it up Dublin, well worth a flutter.

I was up in Casement Park for our League game against Antrim and they’re tidy enough. But I won’t be backing them having seen their team. 2 of the Herrons and Paul Shields are out and that’s three key players. I think Dublin will have a little bit too much for them.

ANTRIM (SH v Dublin): R McGarry; K McGourty, N McGarry, A Graffin; J Campbell, C Donnelly, N McAuley; P Richmond, K McKeegan; S Delargy, N McManus, M Herron; CJ McGourty, K Stewart, PJ O’Connell.

John Denton is a hypocrite as well as a reknowned shit ref. For the benefit of Bandage and mullach whatever:

Former inter-county referee John Denton has been banned for eight weeks following verbal abuse of a match official.

The Wexford referee was hauled before the Games Administration Committee of the Leinster Council on Wednesday night to answer a charge of verbal abuse of Referee Eddie Crowley (Kilkenny) who was in charge of the Wexford-Carlow Leinster Under-16 football championship game on October Bank Holiday Monday.

Denton is a well-known referee himself still officiating at club games in the model county, but has retired from inter-county refereeing following what was a chequered career, having taken charge of provincial senior championship finals as well as top national league games.

As the GAA set about to stamp out thuggery in their games, with the Laois County Board having handed down lengthy bans following sickening scenes in their recent senior hurling final, the Leinster Council has never been found wanting when it came to disciplinary matters, and Denton felt the full wrath of the provincial body following a hearing on Wednesday night.

While Denton was banned for eight weeks from all G.A.A. activity the County Board was also handed down a fine of 1000 Euro as an additional warning that it’s no longer acceptable to have such abuse of match officials.

Leinster Council Secretary, Michael Delaney, confirmed the eight week ban.

He said: “Denton has been banned for eight weeks from night of meeting for verbal abuse of referee while the County Board has been handed down a fine of 1000 Euro.”

Controversy seems to have followed Denton for two years ago he had to be given an escort from the Wexford Park pitch following the Duffry Rovers and Horeswood county senior football championship semi-final.
