We should easily beat Limerick all right. I’d be very much hoping to draw Cork in the next phase as Munster hurling appears to be in trouble. Laois would be a very stiff test.
We’ll be lucky to keep it pucked out to ye.
Your dual players will be seething. We’ll have two early goals scored before Lucey realises what’s hit him. It could be a real mauling in fortress Wexford Park.
That could see me rightly fucked as we’d surely be first. For some reason our games don’t tend to be regarded as the main attraction. Galway-Cork, Laois-Wexford - would they put it in Limerick or Tipp? If it was Laois Limerick I presume it’d have to be Thurles? this is turning out quite cuntish. I don’t want ot have to fork out to see the game especially when we’ll probably win it handy but I know I have to.
You’re relying on Clare to beat Galway to even have a chance there and with the experience of playing in the Leinster championsh behind them it’s hard to see anything other than a Galway win.
[quote=“giuseppe”]Srange selection. I’d have gone with something like:
Paddy Mullaney
Brian Campion Pak. Cuddy Cahir Healy
Liam Dunne Paul Cuddy Mick McEvoy
James Young James Walsh
David Cuddy Henry Shefflin D.J. Carey
Eddie Brennan Billy Byrne Damien Culleton[/QUOTE]
You left out Critchley and Taylor!
I’d love it, down the Pairce too for a saturday night thrashing. Ye’d get an awful dose of the O’ Halphin.
You left out Critchley and Taylor![/QUOTE]
Critchley was before my time and I was a bit young for Taylor too so I just went on players I’d seen regularly. MOre like a team of the last ten years I suppose.
Back to the qualifiers, there won’t be a double header and it’ll be on a home/away basis. One of the games might be earlier for the telly but that’ll hardly be the Laois one so as long as we don’t get Wexford away I’ll be fine.
I think Limerick would be the best draw for us (much as I’d hate to hope they’d beat fellow Leinstermen Wexford on Saturday). We usually give them a good rattle. One of the best things I ever heard an opposition supporter say about us was someone from Limerick saying in 2005 “they’re beating the shite of us” at half-time in the qualifiers. We weren’t even playing dirty just a beautiful physical game of hurling.
Anyone know when the Leinster U21 Hurling final is on?
Scratch that, its next Wed, though it was tonight for some reason.
Some lob sided draw. I don’t really get the odds.
PaddyPower: [Other sites have similar odds]
Kilkenny 1/2
Tipperary 3/1
Galway 9/1
Cork 9/1
Waterford 18/1
Limerick 33/1
Dublin 33/1
Laois 1000/1
Cork are 9/1 to beat Galway then Waterford then Kilkenny [in successive weeks] and then probably Tipp with Aisake and Ben[post hammy] and nobody else who can score.
Best of luck.
Galway are 9/1 to beat Cork then Waterford then Kilkenny [in successive weeks] and then probably Tipp with Canning and well that’s it. Wonder who the first team will be to give him a good auld hatchet. I’d say Cork will give him a nice dose on Saturday.
Best of luck again.
Dublin and Limerick are overpriced.
Limerick have to beat Laois and Dublin to be in a semi with Tipp who as we know are flakey as hell.
Dublin have to beat Limerick[or Laois, shut up MBB :guns:] to be in a semi with Tipp.
I give Dublin a good chance of beating Limerick and they’d be the right young tough team to give Tipp a real battle probably coming up short.
If I was Laois manager I’d have a go at a proper blanket Gaelic Football style defense against Limerick.
3 in the FB line
1 Sweeper ahead of them
3 in the HB line
1 Sweeper ahead of them
2 in Midfield
2 in the HF line
2 in the FF line
Try and put Limerick under as much pressure as possible. Their forwards aren’t up to much. Without Niall Moran and implementing this formation you aim to hold them to under 15 points. Hope for Limerick to shoot some bad wides, then go from there and hope to nick a goal. If it worked it would be terrible for hurling but nobody has really tried this and it’s the only way Laois would have a chance I reckon. You can only really try this against teams that have forwards who are poor at long range shooting and Limerick certainly fall into that category in fact I think they are the perfect team to try this against.
Limerick are 40/1 with Boylesports to win it out. Surely value in that considering we should (should now mind) be capable of making it to a semi-final v Tipp. If we do make it to that semi-final i suppose we’d be no more than 10’s or 12’s then to go all the way…
42’s on Betfair at the moment. Could be a back to lay prospect alright. I have a tenner on the footballers at 263’s on there since before the Cork game. :guns:
Maybe 16s or 18s?
Do you treat as what are the chances that they could beat Tipp 3/1[?] and then KK 5/1[?]
I don’t know are they a back to lay prospect though because assuming we did make the final and it against Kilkenny, i’d imagine Kilkenny could be as short as 1/8 or 1/10 to win.
Depends largely on the semi performance [and result] I’d imagine.
If KK were to give someone a good baytin, like say Waterford again [evil laugh] then yeah 1/10 could be possible.
Kilkenny will be hard bet.
Say Dublin were to beat Limerick [or Laois, sigh]…
Do you think Dublin could fill the place for a semi final against Tipp?
1/2 with powers to win it out. You could do worse this year than lump on that i’ll bet.
Ticketmaster Favour Galway?
Was on ticketmaster there a minute ago looking for Cork Galway tickets.
So I search for tickets and the following pops up in the verification screen[which is now infinitely more annoying than it was]…
Presume Galway will be favourites to beat Cork…Wouldn’t mind a piece of Cork if they are 7/4 or better…
