What tunes are you tipping away at? I was a dab hand at the first bit of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik when I was a chap.

That and The Theme from Batman

Stop watching the golf

Do some drugs

I watched the Ireland match up to the first goal. It was obviously going to be a cake walk for the brits.

That’s a grand pass time.

What golf is on?

Drink us my only drug of choice. I have to stand back from it. Putting on too much weight.

I think it’s the weather. I can’t get a thing done.

I’m sorry to hear this anyway boredom is a bastard. Many people are in the same boat. What are your interests? I’m surprised how much sport has suffered without crowds.

I spent the last 15 minutes working out how many Republic of Ireland senior men’s national team matches I’ve attended in my lifetime.

The answer is 73.

None within the last five years.

On this, I have yet to hear of somebody who attended this match and does not speak fondly of it, it was the classic moral victory, the crowd were wired that night, Paul McShane announced himself as the spiritual guardian of Irish association football, my last time in the old Lansdowne Road and a rattling good way to go out.

I was at it.

It was deadly atmosphere wise but in hindsight it papered over a lot of cracks.
