That’s not a bad outcome but still a tough station. Best of luck
Some positive news for a change on this horrid subject. Close friends here, their daughter and ours were room mates in college. Diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer two years ago that had spread everywhere, lungs, liver, bones. Realistically given a year or less, has been on a progression of targeted therapy ADCs (antibody-drug conjugates) that kept her going until last December when she went seriously downhill, looked like it was all over. Started the fourth and final course then and remarkable improvement since, all bone tumors gone, liver function back to near normal. From lying in a hospital bed with time running out three months ago to sitting outside a winery sipping pinot at the weekend.
I know its just one example and it could be an outlier but it would at least give you a bit of hope.
Back at the Beacon this afternoon, all went well, will start in a couple of weeks, only 4 sessions of chemotherapy required every 3 weeks, said they’re as close as is possible to 100% all removed but purely preventative in case of any microscopic residue left, oncologist said extremely rare ovarian presents at Stage 1, her words were ‘you’ve an angel on your shoulder’, said vast majority she sees are at Stage 3 or 4. All going well be out the gap mid to late June.
My father had his surgery today. Surgeon confident all of the cancer has been removed and that a full recovery will be made.
All the best lads.
We were due to go to Portugal for a few days late May thats out, Italy in late August for a week golfing is definitely in, oncologist told her to keep playing even through chemo as exercise is key to full recovery.
Good stuff lads. Good to see some good stories in here
That’s a pity about Portugal as I know you don’t manage to get away too often………
Ah sure …to ad to the positive vibes.
Got my results of my usual 6 monthly MRI scan yesterday. All clear. I was grade 4 when diagnosed.
Boom

Missed Lanza a few weeks ago, eyeing it up now for November
Girl I used to work with mid 40s, three teenage kids passed away today. Went in to have her spleen removed and they found she was riddled with cancer. She went out in a couple of months. A genuinely good person, went working on the missions when she could have had a very good career. There is no justice with cancer.
50% hit rate amongst the population, it’s red or black roulette for all of us
Something has to get us I suppose but when people are young it’s very hard to take.
It’s rampant now I’ve no clue what it is, processed foods? I’ve a feeling they will look back in the not too distant future and they will say those poor cunts drank all their milk & water from plastic containers.
Some great news in this thread for once aside from Fagan’s sad tale. Always great to hear about people beating this cunt of a thing.
Time to dance again lads. Woth all my operations over the years. I developed a growth thats eroding my abdomen wall. So im under the knife again tomorrow as they sort me out. So im afraid i wont be togging out for a while again. Take care and ill talk to ye on the other side
