Live spot of Sharlene Mawdsley in the UCD sports centre gym. Keeping a low profile with a baseball cap pulled down and deep in her phone but looking primed for further PBs this year
Spot.
I was in my cage at traffic lights in Fairview at around 3.27pm (at the Malahide Road junction) when I spotted a seemingly attractive older blonde woman walking into view having turned the corner by Bramās CafĆ©. She was tanned, wearing kinda Doc Marten boots, a tight leggings & a leather jacket & I thought to myselfā¦sheās probably dressed a bit young for her age. The lights remained red for quite some time and the woman got closer as she continued walking on the path to the side of me. She then veered out onto the kerbside &, as she was getting into a parked black sporty car, I realisedā¦thatās RTĆ newsreader Sharon NĆ BheolĆ”in.

You surely remember Richard E Grant from Withnail and I
Or Richard E. Grant though. Thatās it.
Yes, I knew him and the old fella is Gyles something or other
Brandrite
Former Tory MP Giles Brandreth.
I saw him on The One Show recently. He was such a pain in the hole, I had to google his name.
I soon forgot it again but his stupid face and jumpers stuck alright.
Do you ever have one of those really freaky experiences where somebody you havenāt seen in years comes into your mindā¦& then you almost immediately bump into them? I was running on Bull Island this morning (see below) & realised I was cutting it fine to be back home for a (Teams) meeting. So I was plotting a quicker route backā¦if I go up that side street & sneak across there & go in through the back of the Irish Wheelchair Association & through to the Central Remedial Clinic car park & back onto Castle Avenue etc etc.
As I was jogging through the CRC I could see a large group of staff & service users heading out. Looking at the 10 or so young people in their wheelchairs, a lad who was a former work colleague came into my mind - he was also a wheelchair user after suffering a horrific sporting injury. I was thinkingā¦Jesus I havenāt seen or heard from that chap in nearly 20 years & I wonder what lifeās like for him now.
I jogged out the last 500m up to gritty Killester, popped into The Orange Goat & ordered 2 americanos, 1 san pellegrino (lemon) & 1 croissant (almond). I was loitering to the side waiting for my order when a woman & man approached the cafe entrance. The woman strode ahead & held the door open for the man to continue inside in his electric wheelchair.
I couldnāt believe my eyes - it was the fella from my old job who had literally just come into my mind for the first time in nearly 2 decades. I was a little thrown as they were engaging with staff about whether to sit in or take out & what the menu options were.
As I recovered my composure, I glanced over to the stools by the window where Daniel McDonnell, Irish Independent football correspondent & Off The Ball contributor, was sitting & tiptapping away on his device. Dan had ear pods in & was wearing white trainers, blue jeans & grey jumper (sleeves rolled up).

Too long, might throw it into Chatgpt to get a summary.
How is @dancarter?
Went for a run, took a shortcut, went for coffee, seen a journalist.
