For shame. For shame. What sort of parents have they.

Predictable response from Thatcherite Ireland.

Shame. Shame.

Thatā€™s one of the biggest problems with the Irish economy. Legions of low-skilled, middle income bean counters identifying as high flying financiers because they wear a suit to work.

The sad reality is that we have a barely developing indigenous export sector, which is what Irish economic prosperity is always going to be based on. 4000 exporting firms to Denmarkā€™s 30,000 exporting firms. Our top 50 exporters file no patents either in the US or Europe. 50% of the IDAā€™s clients are research inactive. Fuck all business investment in third level R&D collaboration compared to other developed economies. And whatā€™s worse, thereā€™s no vision at all for how any of this can be changed. Instead you have lads cheering on Noonanā€™s defence of tax avoidance scheme.

But what else can you expect from these private sector bureaucrats. They have never built anything and donā€™t have a creative bone in their body.

The same goons on here who also moan about the high tax rate they pay themselves. Spoofers the lot of 'em.

Anytime I see or hear that baldy bollocks the name McCole springs to mind

Going out of his way to deny the Irish people ā‚¬15 billion from the EU.

Where does this amazing economic feat come in the Kaiserā€™s list lads?

You just donā€™t get it mate. He has to play the game or theyā€™ll all leave.

Canā€™t wait to hear these cunts come out and defend an appeal. I get we rely on FDI, but ā‚¬13bn? Would fund a proper water infrastructure. This is why I went on the Water Charge protest. They jail a man for paying vat on apples instead of garlic or vice versa but facilitate 13bn write off for a MNC. What a corrupt dump we live in.

They are paying an effective tax rate of 0.05% I think. Our rate is 12.5%. ā€œTheyā€™ll all leaveā€ is scare tactics. 12.5% is a good rate, if they donā€™t want to pay it then fine, fcuk off. Not sure there are many countries with a tax rate of less than that with an English speaking workforce. Switching costs can also be significant. Everyone should pay their fair share. If they do leave then 13bn should keep the old economy going for a while until we come up with another solution. And remember, 13bn is just for Apple.

They wonā€™t all leave if Apple are forced to pay tax, but they will all leave if we arenā€™t seen to be attempting to defend the tax deals. Thereā€™s a subtlety.
Iā€™m sure Noonan is delighted to be getting the money, but he canā€™t be seen to be delighted.
Heā€™s playing a stormer, shake his fist at the EU whilst getting to put his other hand in Apples pocket.

The likes of Noonan, Kenny and the Fainneā€™s before them have bullied the poor into subsidising the wealthy for a long time now. If you think the establishment are secretly happy about this you are wrong. We all knew what was going on, now itā€™s official. FG have banged the ā€œEU say we must do itā€ drum since they came into govt. They even used it to push water charges.

We gave up our sovereignty when we joined the EU. In fairness in a lot of aspects they pulled us kicking and screaming into the first world. Weā€™d get nothing done without Brussels forcing reform down our throats
