Iām clearly wasting my time trying to discuss this properly with somebody whose insularity wonāt allow him to recognise the achievements of anybody not born in Italy or Ulster.
Time will prove who is right here, Pochās stock is much much higher than Conteās, if the roles were reversed the two teams wouldnāt be in the same sentence.
Youāre wasting your time trying to pass your emotional, bitter diatribes as being some sort of reasoned logic. Iāve asked you quite a few times to substantiate your claims but you wished out like the bitch you are.
Conte failed at international level by your own logic mate, isnāt that my point, the rest is all speculation.
Plenty of clapping on the back and frantic explainations for failure. Going into the 2016 European Championships, Italy had never lost to the Germans in all eight previous meetings at World Cups and European Championships. Italy had won all four knock out meetings as well in 1970, 1982, 2006 and 2012.
Breathtaking double standards and hypocrisy from @Nembo_Kid.
Thatās not what you were saying earlier.
They lost by a system you deem a ālotteryā. Germany are the current World Champions.
Perspective is lost on you Geoff.
its a simple question, do you stand by your assertion that penalty kicks is a lottery?
Itās exactly what I was saying, will you concede that by your standards he failed at international football?
bumped for Jeff
I thought he did a great job with Italy. We brought the World Champions all the way to a penalty shootout, he knocked the reigning European Champions out. We had lost nearly all our established midfield options before the tournament with Pirlo retiring, Marchisio, Verratti and Montolivo missing out with injury and then De Rossi and Motta missing the Germany game through injury and suspension respectively.
Fine margins and itās a shame he could not continue his work as the national team has worsened since despite having better players available.
All well and good, I personally have no problem recognizing his limited successes as Italian manager, I am calling out your double standards as regards the manager and staff of Tottenham Hotspur who you continually regard as failures, these are most definitely double standards.
Mate, I respect the Chelsea managers achievements, I just think heās a cunt and will fail in his current job, the first one where Iāve ever paid any attention to him.
bizarre
you think he is a cunt? why?
How does he fail when heās already had success.
Pochettino is now in his fourth season at Spurs, they have not won anything.
Hereās an example of lost perspective. In 2015/16, Tottenahm had their best league season in 26 years, finishing 3rd. In 2016/17, Tottenham had their best league season since winning the double 58 previously in 1960/61, finishing 2nd behind a Chelsea side who set a record for most league wins in a season. All of this occurred with Spurs having only the 6th highest payroll in the EPL and punching well above their weight. This was your perspective on Spurs 2016/17 season.
Youāre reverting to type now
I have continually tried to refer this to his Italy career and all I want is to point out your double standards, youāre moving the goalposts as usual, boring.
Spurs will probably never again win the league mate, Iām reconciled to that, they canāt compete with the big clubs,
In 2015/16 they were pipped to the title by Leicester City mate. I though you Spurs fans might have a bit more ambition.
His Italy career? I think most football people would conclude he surpassed expectations with Italy.
Like Leicester City? Spurs have one of the biggest budgets and financial clout in Europe, that should be no excuse.
Thereās your double standards again, he failed at Italy by your standards, that is indisputable going on your past utterances. Victory for me.
Spurs budget is in the hapenny place Iād say mate, I donāt pay much attention to that side but Iād be shocked if they had clout to match Chelsea or the Manchester clubs even in their own country.
Conte=Failure at Italy by @Nembo_Kidās standards, please stick with this which is all I came here to discuss today.
What standards? He only entered one competition and exceeded expectation, they lost the World Champions in a penalty shootout, they disposed of the reigning European Champions in the previous round and beat the no.1 ranked team in the world in the group stage.
Staying on topic would require you to qualify your comments on Conte setting teams back by 5 years.
Spurs budget is not in the haypenny place. If every club took that outlook we could leave Barca, Real, PSG, City and Man Utd off with it but itās not an excuse.
If youre not first youre last, those are your words mate, Good luck. DOUBLE STANDARDS.
