The Christmas present ideas thread

He isn’t half right I’d say the crĂ©atĂșr. That’s why I put him on ignore. It’s easier for all.

Don’t mind him he’s only rising you now.

Guys I’m feeling bullied again. Can we all not be nice and just respect each others opinions.

I know we can strive to be better.

Thanks guys.

He’s not your mate,he sounds like a complete wanker.

One of the kids’ mothers set up a chat for this last Christmas. It’s gone quiet since one mother put up a screenshot of a negative drugs test with a ‘phew’ below.

Yep deadly serious. Kids are in first class. Not sure if this is his first year as a teacher but I’ve had to listen to my Mrs banging on about it for the last week or so. They do the usual club together and get something and think it was a One4All voucher but he daid he’d prefer the cash and it can be revolut to him if it makes it easier. I did have a chuckle because i was imaging all the mothers spitting bullets about it.

A thread @flattythehurdler set up as an advice thread to help people has descended into mud slinging and acrimony.

For fucks sake it is a small token of appreciation. A bottle of wine or a box of chocolate most often. As long as a school and teacher doesn’t make it mandatory then what is the problem.

Some families can’t afford it but feel they have to join in. It’s quite simple really.

when did this nonsense start and where did it come from? When I was coming up there was no fucking way this was going on.

Getting your teachers stuff. Teachers were the enemy passed the age of about 10

Surely to God a teacher or school could send a message home saying there is no obligation to do it. Banning something just for the sake of a few never works out well, especially something as innocent and delightful as a child gifting their teacher something to say thanks.

A colleague, bordering on a friend, had this issue lately. Message went out saying to get nothing. Then he sees over half the class bringing in bags yesterday so he’s flapping around the loop last night looking for something.

Ban that shit

You don’t have to ban it. Simply ask for an anonymous donation to your favourite charity. That way they can still give something while developing an appreciation for the real meaning of Christmas.
A lot of families have nothing, and many of them aren’t even Christian

Just teachers or anyone who gets a gift of a bottle of the hard stuff at Christmas
