The Citizens of Cavan and Fermanagh Thread, including Quinns

Another QIH Director on Claire Byrne here now. Speaking very well but you’d imagine he’s just putting a target on his head now.

:frowning:. Passing through?. No other logical reason on earth to visit it.

I am managing a project out that part of the country at present.

Is it Quinn paying these goons or what’s going on?

That would be my reading, I can’t see the motive for it otherwise. They’re hired muscle as far as I can see but the Quinns are hardly that stupid? They’re brazen enough alright and whoever is behind the attacks has got away unscathed yet so who knows.

That director seems to have a fair idea anyway saying “the man behind it” needs to be caught. The female journalist made reference to Sean Quinn junior warning this would happen but hard to know if she meant anything by it.

Would there be support for Quinn amongst the locals? Seems extraordinary that no one has been arrested yet

You couldn’t manage…a cat.

Yeah I’d say it’s Junior behind it. @anon67715551 will confirm. It reminds me of the time the Soprano crew tried to shake down some hipster coffee joint in Newark. It couldn’t be done.

The RA have nowhere to launder their cash anymore allegedly and are thick about it, is what I’ve heard…

All I’m hearing was @Horsebox was involved and the the PSNI and garda are happy DNA was left on @Horsebox back door.

I don’t think Junior is implicated but he’d know where the Capo de Tutti hangs out.
He’s no doubt being deliberately obtuse. The dogs in the street can zero in at this stage.

You can safely rule out the RNLI and the Order of Malta.

I’m not ruling the RNLI out yet

According the the radio this morning someone has an article in a newspaper today saying it is suspected that contrary to previous reports dissident republicans have nothing to do with this, but rather a group of criminals who were hired in to do a job.

Unfortunately I missed the start of the conversation so I’ve no idea what paper, anyone seen the article?

The Gardai seem to have got this one well in hand. A suspect, the scene of the crime etc all identified. They are keeping “tight lipped” of course, which means they are officially releasing less information than usual while leaking absolutely everything to the newspapers.

This geezer who went off to buy some bleach after the assault and was recorded on CCTV doesn’t seem to be a criminal mastermind.

The vast majority of criminals are not masterminds in the first place, which in large part is why they ended as criminals

Have they got someone buying a load of bleach on CCTV in the area at the time your man was missing? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

They beat the tar out of the poor man and realised they might have left some incriminating DNA on him.

So one of them left and returned half an hour later to douse your man in bleach. Conveniently a known criminal was caught buying bleach at the same time.

They beat your man up, then he heard them say we need to get some bleach.
So off one of them went then to buy it. The Guards managed to find the shop he bought it in and got CCTV of him, then arrested him (must have been known to them).
Since then they’ve found the location where your man was beaten up on a property linked to the lad who bought bleach.

Good policing but fairly foolish from the bleacher

Almost the perfect crime.
