The Citizens of Cavan and Fermanagh Thread, including Quinns

GAA stalwarts rallying to support Quinn a few years back unsurprising given the character references handed out to various sex offenders and murderers

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Quinn would be a good nominee in the “People Who Are Starting to Give Me a Pain in the Hole” thread.

What ad are you on about. Christ it can’t be that hard to identify Séamus, big woolly head with equally lush beard. The wild eyed stare will be the decider. Seamus is sound BTW.

Is this him?

Fits the criterion as outlined but unfortunately NO. Helluva’n effort though. :joy:

The Cavan cola one above

No, not SO’R. Said SO’R has a lovely line in the RIP condolences section today.
Drumreilly die-hard Mickey Donohoe has slipped away RIP. SO’R writes

“Manys the snarl you fired at us Carrigallen lads but you were a mighty Drumreilly man”.

This is actually the man in question. As sound a man as you’ll ever meet.

sor

He’s the spit of S o R

I’ve acquired via Kindle “Standing in Gaps” by Séamus O’Rourke. I’m carefully logging this information here as distinct from the Good Books thread. It’s innocent enough stuff, bordering on harmless at times.
What really disappoints though is a number of spelling errors that weren’t detected by the proof-reader, presuming there was one. The credits indicate there was but…

There were favourable mentions to a few well known characters and he got the old name of the pitch in Drumreilly spot on… The White Man’s Graveyard… A “difficult” venue alright.

Seamus is pretty twee to be fair, but good luck to him.Im getting a bit sick of him though, every time he even farts I get 20 WhatsApp of it from Limerick people cause they think I know him.

There’s a photo of the Leitrim minors of 82? beaten by 1pt in the Connacht Final lurking about Bookface. Seamus was on that team, Christ he was a big awkward looking fucker even then. As you say, Good luck to him, the Booker prize I’d say isn’t coming our way the’year.

Sure he’s making a living and that’s the main thing.

I see tashers are making a comeback up that part of the country. Or did they ever go out of fashion?

Moustaches? Movember mate

Informative. A quick search tells me it’s going on since 2003. I never knew it was an annual thing. I hadn’t heard anything about it in recent years.

Is it true Cavan are now complaining about the toll charges to get to Croke Park?

There are two tolls on the M3

I don’t believe so, no supporters are travelling
