Pretty solid team, albiet the UCC one should be better, at least on paper.
When asked how many of the team from yesterday would be there come league action next month, Walsh said: “We’ll be trying to decide the panel at the end of January, which is what we did last year — we think we have two or three fellas from this squad today who will make that panel.”
Only two or three? “Yes, unless you have a better calculator than us! We can only have a panel of 26; we had 34 last year, so we’ve had to cut eight already, and if we want to bring in another three now that means we have to cut three more.”

Any info on this?
Lots of talk on other discussion forums of Newtown losing 4 players to emigration, good few people won’t be sad to see their demise.
Where did those four play senior championship hurling for Newtown Jimmy…
I don’t know Turenne, it would’nt surprise me if it’s a wind up, i dont recognise the names, maybe their young fellas who were pushing for a place.
Best CIT squad in a long while, an awful lot of 3rd, 4th & Post Grads there. Half the subs will be playing on 1st team.
I think its only people from Ballyhea who want to see Newtown demise. Everyone else would have good time for them.

Turenne, are Noth Mon hurling tomorrow in the Munster B cup???
Haven’t the slightest clue Puke. Only schools game I know about tomorrow is the U-16 Cork Colleges Final between Midleton and Blackwater.
Both Cork teams for the weekend. One is too inexperienced, the other one is too experienced. I assume Kerry/Cork is on tv?
Just not giving Kerry an inch Turenne!
Happy enough with both teams to be honest, lots of hurling in that young team even if i don’t think one or two should be there. Could find Waterford a bit physical for them, but what harm.
On my own calculations now, Conor Lehane has played 12-13 games since January 1st, 4 in one 7 day period. He’s 18 still and doing his leaving, this is fucking madness!!!
Football is a huge game and they know it, i expect a bruiser. A serious forward line and delighted to see Miskella out so early. Have played against a few of the seniors in recent club games and they seem in good nick and determined again. Worried at how well some of them looked for this time of year though, they need to pace this year very well.
Do Cork lads expect Cussen to get a run at full forward in the league? Surprising he doesn’t start on the team named for Sunday
Wing forward seems to be the place he does best, but i don’t think he’s up to it at IC.
Pressure off now with Aisake gone and all this TT bull shit. He may become useful yet, but i have my doubts. Poor bastard left an All-Ireland football behind him. For a copper he’s an alright sort and i kinda feel sorry for him. I actually think he prefers football, but Sars pushed him hard at the hurling.
Doesn’t seem to have tonnes of ability, so he’s relying on his height and strength i suppose. Cork wouldn’t really play a game that would suit him. Tough on him to walk away from the big ball the year Cork finally won Sam.
He’s a really good hurler Hannibal, has great skills. He’s just not hungry/aggressive/quick enough for it IMO.
