Thanks for the pm Kev.

Eh they are three MIdleton lads over the 50 odd players in the development squads, which is par for the course for a club like Midleton. Actually think they are relatively weak over the next few years underage. Lots of city lads there but the star players on the teams are from outside of the City and East Cork.

There is more than that turenne, maybe only 3 played last weekend, but i have been told there are more involved, according to people i know involved anyway. Anyway, who cares, its a good crop.

Nemo losing their grip on the championship, still haven’t scored, losing 1-02 to 0-0 with 6 minutes to h-t to Divisonal side Avondhu.

Valley Rovers look like being relegated to Premier Intermediate Football.

Plenty shocks in Cork, but biggest is Nemo out, well beaten. Good for the game although i have nothing against them it had gone extremely boring them winning it.

Castlelyons beat Midleton last night in Minor Championship by a couple of points. Fine game of hurling. Rockies/Carrigaline and Barrs/Castlelyons semis now.

Carrig have aserious team.

Rockies have the standout team though I think, although they struggled past Mallow they are probably still faves. to win it out. The winner will probably come from that side of the draw alright, pissed I’m almost certainly going to miss both semis.

A good list of men there

I see Aiden Walsh will be concentrating solely on football for the coming year

Yes, massive loss to the hurlers, but i think the footballers are really hurting and are probably planning a big assault on getting it back from one of their big two rivals. I’d prefer to be taking it back from the Dubs myself.

Kev-I dont think by your posts you actually needed to say that you would prefer Dublin to win than Kerry!!

There will be signicant changes in personnel I think before Cork and Kerry win their next all Ireland (after this year! )

I like this Dublin bunch, but really dislike a good number of this Kerry team. It could change extremely fast though :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway, Cork only need to get their men back fit and move a couple of guys around. Colm O’ Neill, Daniel Goulding, Ciaran Sheehan, Barry O’ Driscoll, Dan McEoin, Damien Cahalane could all potentially be added from the Mayo team. Cadogan full back and Shields centre and they’ll take a bit of stopping. The tactics have to evolve alright, no doubt about that and a wing back or two is needed.

As much as it pains me to say it, Kerry have nathin coming through

Its backs Cork need even though they could export surplus right corner forwards much the same as Kerry
We surely wont see Quirke Canty Miskella Kissane or Pearce O’Neill again and maybe Noelie. Although Kerry would be happy enough to see them back I would say. Thats a big enough turnover. Few would have guessed in 2009 that of the two teams that Cork would have to remodel signficantly before Kerry.
Shields would work centre back and it would suit him better. Not so sure if Cadogan is a full back as he might attack the ball too much like in hurling at the expense of minding the house but hes a definite starter in either corner or on the wing. Cahalane could be a full back or anywhere else in the backline.

Delighted to hear that C.I.T won today despite not having the services of the outstanding Pat O’Connor, who played for Tubber instead today

Carrig/C.I.T. final.

Where have Carrig come from to get to the final, have they some decent underage or something. Presume it is a mild enough shock for them to make the final.

Granted it is three years ago since we played them but they were a limited enough side that day. Fairly reliant on their full forward to win ball/score, his name escapes me but was a very tidy hurler, former I/C man I believe

That was Seanie O’Farrell, currently on the bench. Carrig have Niall McCarthy obviously, plus Cork U-18 and U-21 forward Robert White, plus they’ve added some very nice young and physical hurlers around the middle of the pitch. Very different team to the side that nearly got relegated a few years back.

Good to hear they are going well. Winners of the Cork championship play the winners of Clare the second week of november in the Munster club. Cork champions will have a long lay off by the looks of it
