The Corruption Thread

What you said was “These people invested in homes to raise their family and have been criminalized”. I took that to suggest that the unfortunate home-owners had been criminalised which I don’t think is the case. I’m not sure how I could interpret it any other way to be honest.

FWIW - I think the actions of the quarry are despicable, both in the initial actions but probably as bad was their subsequent actions once the extent of the damage they’ve caused has been realised. Whatever recourse that can be brought against them should be pursued.

come again for big fudge?

I know a few people who took cases against certain car manufacturers when the dealer wasn’t stepping up etc.

Interested to hear the story as you pointed out is all, thanks.

Why won’t it be? Why aren’t they being pursued?

Who’s paying for the 5k Mica test to qualify for the scheme? Home owners.

The hamster wheel never stops

Have the state got building regulations and authorities to check the quality of products? They’ve got some responsibility and accountability here too.

If I was them I’d cut the money and be done with it.

Minister for Housing O’Brien said last week that there will be provision made for holding them to account.

dealer is a middle man there.

Purchaser still has rship with the Manufacturer for a defective product.

Action against dealer if the dealer was aware of defect.

Primary action is against the dealer who sold you the car. You paid them. Dealers try and fob off customers to the manufacturer

Action can lie against a manufacturer where the defect causes death or injury.

Clean water is literally a matter of life and death. And whilst the Dubs try and kill off rural Ireland slowly ye will be looking to steal our water soon enough. Not gonna happen pal

And what about demolition, storage of fixtures to be reused, and rental during rebuild?

Is mosney available?

Question might have been answered but in all the solutions here why aren’t the insurance companies involved.

If there was something wrong with my house they would be the first people I would ring?? The people I pay my home insurance to

About time but why did he wait until they were in Dublin to speak up?

I don’t believe that there’s any insurance company that would pay out on a house insurance policy due to negligence on the part of the builder or building product provider(s).

He’s been speaking up the odd time but has avoided saying anything concrete (pun intended).

MacLochlainn has been very quiet considering the majority of impacted home owners are in his area.

I reckon Doherty is waiting for the Government proposal so he can attack it, rather than commit to anything.
