The Cost of Living 📈

I used love those big bags of Magic Stars.

Agreed. They do well from the funeral home attached to it

Think the lad who owns the Morgue in templeogue bought it years ago when it was a quite a basic pub amd gave it to his daughter and her husband . In fairness they’ve turned it into a goldmine

I don’t think lads realise how cheap the catering wholesale butchers are.

In my head this is the reason I didn’t get the 2nd date from a wan I met down at the Marina market recently. I was already after paying €9 for 2 cappuccinos and it asked me on the screen for a tip. I declined.

You’re well off out of it then.

They can fuck off with tips when the minimum wage is a decent level. Tipping culture is a balls in the US, they expect 20% now while advertising jobs for 16 dollars per hour is MA.

Also a cunt to get through SAP concur i might add.

I was waiting at Shannon airport yesterday for a lift, and saw the coffee was 4.50 for a cappuccino, and I refused to pay it as I thought it extortionate.
Clearly not.
Starbucks is dear even in the UK though. I paid 30 quid for seven coffees the last day.

Could you translate that into English?

And a bit with it. Labour gone balloobas.

Like appropriately given for using Shannon airport.

Labour costs are the biggest costs in eateries, of course the rate going by has led to increased costs.

Minimum wage is the floor.you cannot legally pay less.

A minimum wage increase is a reaction to inflation not the cause.

Do these eateries need all that FTE?

Where did I say that?

I pointed out the difference in rate.

Even if in 2020 in was €9.80. It’s hardly a surprise that hospitality ha gotten a lot more expensive, aside from everything else.

Generally speaking no.

Hard industry, hard work.

It’s many white collar jobs that are likely not needed.
