Can someone explain to me why a pint of Guinness 0 is so expensive?

This inflation business represents a great chance for us to sort out our diets. Homo sapiens doesnā€™t actually need a carvery, three cappuccinos and a bag of Malteasers every day.

According to Tim itā€™s the minimum wage increase

I think the re- turn bottle scheme has similar opportunity. The added cost & effort might just get people to pause for a second and not bother with as many soft drink purchases as feel theyā€™re being mugged off.

If it takes that to motivate some then itā€™s not a bad thing in the long run. Its a tax to change consumption habits in tandem with environmental

Climate change

Itā€™s more expensive to produce as they make normal Guinness then have to extract the alcohol back out. There should be no duty on it though so I assume that should counteract the added cost. No incentive for pubs to charge cheaper for it though

What does a tin of it cost in the supermarket?

I see ā‚¬7.50 for the non alcoholic vs. ā‚¬9 for the regular stuff.

Would seem to be more pisstaking by Diageo there.

For pints? 9 notes?

For four cans

Lads, enegia have been robbing me blind. Im switching. About 2 months ago they put in a smart meter on our gaff. I know nothing about it. Im sure a sheet was thrown in the letterbox but its long gone.
Should i be going on a day/night tariff? Or will i actually cost myself a fortune? Mrs j works from home 3 days. Iā€™m away off in the berlingo a fair bit but also wfh a fair bit. Kids come home in the afternoons although will be later next year. Thanks in advance.

No, you would save money if you ran the washing machine, EV & dishwasher ( if you have one) at the time of the cheap tariffs

I have no EV. Wont have for at least a yearā€¦ would running the washing machine and dishwasher at night make up for the jump in peak pricesā€¦ i dont think so.

Burn the house to the ground and claim off the insurance. No other option Iā€™m afraid.

I would say they are the majority of your expense if you have an air fryer

I signed up for a smart plan with Bord Gais that gives free electricity on a Sunday. Washing machine and dryer goes hard that day :sunglasses:

You can get a special ev boost rate thats very cheap between 2 and 4 in the morning. Set the washing machine, dishwasher on timers to run then.

Get a few power banks and smart plugs to charge at that time to cover off phone charging throughout the day

If you have kids you donā€™t need a dishwasher
