The Cost of Living 📈

It’ll be a very bleak winter and could stretch into next may.

99p in McDonalds mate.

Fair enough.

My grandfather used to say you should keep a few forks of hay for the first week in May.

Your granddad’s diet was shit mate.

There was nothing wrong with his shit. Plenty of roughage, ya gowl ya lol

By you paying it.

I won’t be again. I didn’t check it until i came home

That’s how you deal with it. When we were kids we knew the price of everything we bought. People today are oblivious. They’ll catch on though. Tesco makes more profit in Ireland than in any other country it operates in.

I had a look and i can get the same coffee shipped in using amazon at cost nearly

Started doing the groceries online recently. A great way to save money when doing a big weekly shop for the family.

Young wan in the shop looked at me funny this morning when I waited for 10 cent change. That was 2 shillings one time I said. Went over her head

It’s more of a moral that youth have no value in money. 2 shillings was a lot of money once upon a time.

I don’t get when waiting for 10c change became an oddity.

With tesco or blended among a few?

Should just have her put it in the poor box. An act I don’t see many people contemplate anymore which may be because they’re unfamiliar with it

I actually said that to her but they hadnt any I was told. Don’t see so many of them anymore on counters since the Covid screens were put up. Cue the whole awkward looking at me like “you actually want it?”

me neither

Dunnes Stores. Previously did the groceries in Aldi, which was a 20 minute drive each way and seemed to be getting more expensive week on week.

With the online shopping it’s obvious what you’re final bill will be and you can double check what you already have in the press etc.

So between price and time savings it seems well worthwhile.
