He’s like one of these populist loonies that you’d be laughing at other countries electing.
Realistically 70 year olds on a pension aren’t going to quit smoking at this stage.
They should be targeting vaping which is a huge issue among young people
What are you on about at all?
Exactly. A bit of common sense there would be a good thing.
I’d a gran aunt who lived to 89 and she smoked 40 fags a day and drank like a fish only once her husband died.
Everyone is different I suppose.
Its long gone past the stage where its the price that determines whether someone quits or not.
Its probably a good incentive to stop young people starting though in fairness, which is why they really need to clamp down on vaping too.
Legalise and tax all drugs would be my opinion, mate.
Proportionately of course.
It is legalised and taxed already
Thankfully not all drugs are legalised, pal.
You just said they should all be legalised
Proportionately pal.
Ie. No hard drugs.
Heard a stat on the news there recently that 60% of people who used a vape had never smoked a cigarette.
There was an allegation that tobacco companies were encouraging vaping in the young as a gateway back to fags.
I wouldnt imagine many young vapers would move onto fags… They are fruity flavoured yokes that are v cheap relative to fags. I’d say they are as bad if not worse than the fags.
I cant believe you are advocating for something that kills people
This wills stop kids smoking and will save the state billions
Wouldn’t surprise me as guys doing the cigarette machines in pubs are now doing vapes in the pubs. Offering cash to pub owners to let them put machines in.
Vapes becoming every bit as ubiquitous as fags back in their heyday.
Any town with a vape shop is to be avoided
Higher in nicotine but not near as generally bad for health. Nicotine content is the issue. It’s supposedly as addictive as heroin and it’s not healthy
Have studies proven conclusively that the heat from the content inhaled going into the body is A-OK? Had people point out these dangers 10+ years ago when I had an original iteration of a vape.
No, there aren’t huge long term studies. It ain’t good for you, but it’s not as bad as 40 woodbine.
I had a vape in 2010. You’d imagine a decade + would give decent evidence of usage effects.
Obviously not as bad as bursting through a pack of Rothmans but you’d imagine there will be some prices to pay physically on larynx and lungs from incessant inhaling of heat/steam with additives.
With that in mind, I don’t think they should be giving them free run to lash them everywhere for broad availability.
