The Daddy Thread

You probably won’t have electricity back until Saturday anyway so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Exactly what happened. Not a gust of wind in Letterkenny this morning.

There’ll be a massive difference in the wind levels in Cork & Donegal. The Donegal warning is for snow/ice

Yup but I think it was still supposed to windier than Wednesday.

Also closing schools when there’s snow in this day and age is a but nut when there’s snow days every year.

Can they not prepare for it so we can enjoy our Netflix at home in peace?

Sorry, I assumed you were in Wexford?
Donegal wasn’t in the wind warning but you may not be past it yet

And you were expecting crèche workers to travel to work in that?!

A crowd of snowflakes shouldn’t stop the country.

Presumed it was the wind shutting them down yesterday.

Roads are gritted, drive slowly and stay off the brakes :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You’re asking Donegal people to drive slowly?!

Father in law told me before that you can go as fast as you want if you go steady, him a Waterford man.

Main issue is nervous drivers hitting the brakes suddenly and throwing their car all over the place.

The issue is the snow

Indeed but it amazes me there’s not an as campaign by the RSA telling people how to drive safely in the snow, if they can’t avoid doing so.

Shur it comes at most twice a year. Stop whinging & enjoy the day at home with the childer

Gonna have right craic here today.

Just think it might help a bit for when it comes down suddenly. More of an issue up here obviously.

Pal of mine - kid had a severe reaction to MMR vaccine this week.

Rushed to hospital. Reaction came on about 12 hours after it. One to watch for any new Dads.

I thought it’d be a trip to GP and sorted but they were brought to hospital as a precaution in case needed to operate to relieve swelling as it could have got hairy quickly. They’ll be in for a few days but should be fine now.

This ain’t an anti vax post. Just a “one to be aware of” post.

Drive in a highish gear. Keep your distance. Better to buy snow tyres and you can bomb away to your heart’s content.

sounds like you are an anti vaxxer

Don’t needle me pal.

What we should have had was Clare Byrne roping in that thick fucker Conor Faughnan from the AA Roadwatch wheeze to show us how to drive on snow. I’m very thankful to her for educating me in how to put on a coat in the proper manner.

Any decent indoor places to take a 16month old in Dublin tomorrow? Weather looks shite so want to keep him entertained/ burn off energy.
