The Daddy Thread

Itā€™s also code for he doesnā€™t know them well enough to be rough with them.

Most young lads are very timid around kids they donā€™t know at that age especially if the other boys know each other well.

Youā€™re going to have to move house now.

What age is he?

Surely the credit must go to the indispensable vital crucial yellow t shirt?

Our little wan I think will be more into singing, dancing, ballet all that crap, so her mother can take her off to that. Iā€™ll take her hiking.

At a birthday party on Saturday, all the kids were having a go at the pinata with a stick. Our wan goes up and gives it the most delicate tap. I said to the lad beside me 'she will break fuckall ball in the half forward line anyway '.

I think youā€™re right. Itā€™s a herd mentality at that age

What age is he? Thats pretty par for the course for 90% of them under 8

She sounds like a chip off the old block.

My problem was Iā€™d pull too hard Fagan. Mightnā€™t connect with the ball always though but I always connected with something :see_no_evil:

If the child doesnā€™t want to play hurling donā€™t be making him play. Thereā€™s plenty of other hobbies a child could have that will be just as good. He could take up music for a start.

Thereā€™s always hockey, shinty or lacrosse

Yeah but heā€™ll end up like me not wanting to do anything.

Iā€™d say we might be in the same boat with our older lad. Heā€™s showing no interest in playing ball games or sport generally. Just about to turn 4 so naturally that could change but heā€™s obsessed with letters and numbers & shaping up to be an academic sort. The younger lad is wild and has the makings of an adventurous wing back with a bit of a dirty streak. Weā€™ll bring them both along to GAA in due course but wonā€™t force the issue.
