The Daddy Thread

My little girl is away at the Gaeltacht, just off the phone and it seems to be going really well thank God, you’d be terrified that it’d be a disaster
Going down to visit on Sunday

The piece of Gaeilge I’m most familiar with usually arrived in an official brown envelope and began as follows:

Boxtyeater a chara,

Is oth liom a rá.

You were then summarily informed as to how your application for a myriad of things (planning permission, grant for 3 bedroom extension etc.) had been declined (on this occasion) forcing you to redraw not only your application but rethink which channel to move it through.:moneybag::dollar:

Could anyone recommend a good restaurant in Dublin city centre- somewhere to suit a couple of teenagers. Mexican, burgers etc

Luigi Malones, Gotham Cafe

I supposed Thunder Road and TGIs would do too

BĂ cĂșaramach with recommendations from @Spidey . Based on his grubbing reports he’ll have you peeling €200 for a bit of a snack before you know it.

Bunsen on South Anne street or Wexford street does the best burgers going

777 on George’s Street is a decent Mexican but maybe more aimed at older crew/cocktails etc

Mad Egg on Charlotte Way does a great chicken tender / sandwich

Also look at Nomo Ramen or Wagamama for ramen/noodles/rice - Wagamama is one kids do seem to like

Gone to the big grill in the sky

“Hi all. We are sending out a message to inform everyone that the service will be closed for all rooms on Monday the 29th of August.

The day will be used for staff meeting and cleaning of rooms for the new year beginning in September.

A calendar will be sent out soon with closure dates for next year so you can plan in advance.

Thank you.”

You should have got a place opposite the grandmother to avoid all of these issues.

Jesus Christ, Fran. We’re both on the WhatsApp group. It’s not the 1990s or something, I like to watch the funky Friday dancing clips too.
