I was very disturbed by the Joe Dolan Bridge in Mullingar. The self-congratulatory signage proclaiming it the longest bridge in Ireland, a status once conferred on Wexford Bridge, just didnāt sit right with me. Is it really a bridge if itās not over water? I found it troubling.

Trouble away, Itās over Saunders Canal you went over which was built in the 18th century to connect the Brosna river to Lough Ennel.
