We’ve taken to watching repeats of daytime/early evening quiz staple, Pointless, featuring the easy charm of presenting duo Alexander Armstrong & Richard Osman.

Of course Richard has since left the show after achieving success as a novelist & the current revolving co-host set up with the likes of Gok Wan & Judge Rob Rinder assuming the Richard role just doesn’t hit the mark.

But these repeats with the originals are pure gold & there’s nothing quite like watching the counter reducing from 100 & your 6 year-old finding one of the most obscure answers.

We’ve since progressed to the 6-year setting questions & hosting family episodes of Pointless in the evenings. You don’t read this in parenting manuals about how to wind down before bedtime when he randomly ascribes a high number to the 4-year old’s answer & they start bating the heads off each other.

Is it not free now? We paid for it to for our older two but think the youngest got it along with the other jabs. Horse de-wormer works as good as any vaccine anyways.

Threat of shingles as an adult is higher if you don’t get chickenpox as a kid I think? Would rather the chickenpox than the shingles, that’s for sure.

Shingles is caused by the same virus as Chicken pocks. It’s a re-emergence of the same virus. You don’t get shingles if you haven’t had chicken pocks first.

Tangentially, my favorite page on faecesbook is ‘I regret having children’. Anonymous submissions, mostly from women of one of the last taboos. The discussion of regret and/or disdain of their children. It’s fascinating.

I didn’t have too bad a dose. A stinging pain in my neck for a few weeks. I remember my father being floored for a month with it though.
