Any ideas for a present for a 7 year old girl and her Mother from Cork city/county? Something reasonably priced (I’m broke) and decent-ish quality - they’d like some tourist jewelry, but they’d also like something that didn’t wear off after a few months.

Maybe matching Claddagh Rings from somewhere like Newbridge Silver? Would be reasonably cheap but should be ok quality.

Takes me back to my American aunt and cousins in the mid 80s buying various bits of claddagh jewellery in Fallers Jewellers just off Eyre Square in Galway. They’d use the old fashioned carbon paper swipe machine for the credit card and the tax free shopping. I’d never seen anybody use a credit card but I’d seen the ads for Access.
Then we’d be off to look at an Aran jumper for a friend, hand knit not machine made. And it was sunny.
You’d be hoping for a quick visit into Woolworths and be given some spare change to buy something before the trip back out to Roundstone.

The two little ones have spent most of the day playing with each other, making a robot with some leftover box while I’ve been dosing off, doing a bit of housework and browsing the internet. Nice out.

Small fella is projectile vommiting 4 times in the last 18 hours, but not a bother on him other than that. Very strange no dip in form gets it all up and then away he goes

The eldest got a glowing school report so said I’d get him something in Smyths. Lovely young fella and he was happy with a packet of football stickers. I told him we could stretch to a game for him. Poor chap chose a Nintendo2 gsme that didn’t work on his old Nintendo. Tried to bring it bsck but they told me there was no returns on opened items. I think i lost the reveipt running after the youngest in the car park. I have a feeling he’ll be getting school reports more similar to mine than his brother. If I do find the receipt is there anyway I could get a credit note or should i just try sell it online.
