It will pass. Tomorrow is another day.
I donât know how you lads do it, I really donât.
Could you ring your boss and tell him that the wheel fell off your caravan/mobile home or a similar weird excuse. A conventional reason probably wonât cut it, imagination is called for here.
Thatâs tough bro⌠Just tell the boss whatâs what and you can catch up later when little one is down.
Haha Iâm not sure thatâll cut it. Weâll keep the heads down and keep going. Iâd be a small bit concerned for my wife and her mental well being. Its not been easy on her with her dad and both parents cocooning. Allied to that her approach to getting little one to sleep can take up to 2 hours which can be very draining. My approach seldom takes more than 20 mins but she would not be happy to go along with that especially when she is present. Anyway I try as much as I can to give her some breathing room. More often that not I bring little one back to the homestead in Tipp. The grass is greener there, extra pair of hands, always an extra dinner floating around. Raising children is never easy but in these times it seems to be harder.
Difficult times indeed, take care of herself, sheâs under pressure on all fronts.
Iâll light a candle for you all in a minute. However you need to seriously curtail that 2 hour âputting her downâ routine. Itâll end up in making a dogs dinner out of all your lives.
is thast not grounds for force majeure?
your boss would want to be an awfuul cunt not to grant it in those circumstances
careful now that you dont steal @gilgamboa definining characteristic
Yeah I have said it to herself several times now. My own sister ended up doing a similar approach and ended up with post natal depression. She learned the hard way. But theres only so many times I can say it and its often met with an article from an expert that says it effects them emotionally later on in life or some other spurious claims. She says the childminder can get her down to sleep relatively easily but I dont think it has occurred to her that childminder isnât fussing over her with another 5 or 6 children bawling. Hopefully sooner or later the penny will drop but surely a child should learn things like self soothing and developing their own sleep cycles.
Yerra theyâll sleep when they want to.
Would you not just ring the boss and say you have a bit of a situation developing?
Just point him in the direction of the thread. Heâll find tfk
He may even get the hoodie once the swamp is drained.
Yeah it would nearly be but the optics of it would be terrible. Its our busiest time of year. Even around this time last year I couldnât take 2 weeks paternity leave when she was born. Ended up taking a few days annual leave instead. You could of course say to HR or plead your case harder with the boss but they could just divert work away from you instead and could impact long term prospects. Iâll still have it waiting for me to do anyway. Of course if it was much more serious than teething I would be taking the time off to look after her. Anyway Iâll work through tonight and spend a couple of hours entertaining/tiring her out here.
These things have a habit of working themselves out.
They even themselves out over the course of the season.
Yeah just did. I said heâll have it later tonight. Theyâll have it by close of business US time once he is finished his review. Sound enough about it.
You see? Not every boss is a prize cunt.
The only advice really is to think of what of this will matter in two years and do that. Work gets done. Tell the boss. He may be annoyed but will ultimately understand. The child will grow up and youâll laugh about what a pain they were as a baby.
The relationship with your missus probably is the one to protect and you do that in these times by biting your tongue and going with the flow.
Suppository. Not nice to implant but near immediate pain relief
Very tough situation. Maybe drink a half bottle of whiskey and get a good nightâs sleep yourself at least?
Oooooft
Sometimes I think it would be a lot easier to be a buck toothed slaphead from humberside
It sounds like thatâs his trick for getting the child down
