The Daily Debate 24-03-2020 - Zlatan or Larsson?

Not to win a champions league given the clubs he played with is a failure. The fact some of those clubs won champions league after he left or directly before he arrived highlights the fact he failed. Take away all the bluster and bull shit zatlan was a good player but nowhere near as good as people make out.

When titles with inter, Juve and Barcelona was basically par. It’s not like he dragged those teams over the line in tight title races. He consistently failed in the big games.

His 28 goals in 32 games for Milan was a massive failure alright mate

Zlatan was way more than that in fairness bro. Look at his scoring record.

He also had all the attributes in terms of a top player - tall, strong and ridiculously skilful.

His drawback was that he rarely did in the CL or big international tournaments. Glen Whelan managed him in 2016!

Glen Whelan destroyed him, and that’s not an exaggeration.

9 goals in 41 appearances in the Champions leagues over the course of five seasons. A complete myth.

John o Shea ruined him around 08 too.

Larsson played Junior B until his mid 30s and lads think he’s better than a superstar who dominated in 4 of Europe’s premier leagues. This is fascinating…

Those teams would have been dominant without him. When inter sold him they won the treble following season. Barcelona loaned him out and won the treble without him. You can’t get away from this.

These teams failed with zatlan in them but were successful without him. He’s vastly overrated.

Larsson played Junior B until his mid 30s. You can’t get away from that.

And Celtic really went on a barren run when he left

I think Larson is underrated because he stayed at Celtic but he was good for Barcelona at an old age.

This is a damning article.

Zlatan was at the Ballon D’or awards while Henrik was collecting his Honorary Doctorate of the University of Strathclyde. .

Lock the thread.

Larrson won Barcelona a CL.

Zlatan never did it on the big stage … a flat track bully - but that’s ok too.

Any player man marked out of a game by Glen Whelan is of dubious character.

Didn’t Larson get to a World Cup semi final too with Sweden?

He was a sub in 1994, didn’t come off the bench in the semi

Larsson got 37 goals for Sweden in 106 caps, Zlatan got 60 odd in 116.

Henrik stayed a big fish in a small pond, Zlatan swam the ocean.
