It was a poor enough effort
A few lads who should have known better
Lads arent themselves nowadays, some lads havent been right in months.
Corbett was a bit like Geoff Hurst. Got a flukey hat trick in a final but remembered for little else. Big Dan was like Jimmy Greaves.
Lar was plagued by injuries wasn’t he
Nah, that was just Tommy Walsh.
I’m going to have to go with the consensus here. I do think it’s a bit closer than some people are making out; and Dan wasn’t the most stylish hurler in the world but he was effective at his best.
But for me, there’s no doubt that Lar reached higher levels for a longer period. A comparison with Callanan might be interesting. Although there was a good 5 years there where Lar was so-so and Dan was probably playing at a higher level in that time.
Mullane versus Corbett would have been more divisive. Throats would have been cut
Callanan has never done it in tight games particularly finals. He’s three all Ireland wins came in landslide wins. In tight games tipp lost he was usually the reason.
Mullane >> Corbett
Yeah, like the 2015 semi vs Galway. Useless bastard.
He missed The penalty that cost the tipp game. In the final ten minutes with game in the melting pot he went missing.
I genuinely admire your commitment and willingness to put in the work to a wind up. You have no subtlety though
At least you know how to be a WUM.
Yes this is a very stale wind up; he caught a few lads in the last couple of years with it but he needs something original now
In and out. You don’t want to get caught in a recurring one. Lines are drawn in the sand and you nearly end up believing it
Name one tight game in the last ten years Callanan came up with the goods in the final ten minutes that was nip and tuck and he was the deciding factor. You can’t because there is none. Any Tight game tipp lost in the last decade or so he was absolutely no where to be seen when the game was in the melting pot.
Liam Watson or Niall McCarthy were better hurlers than Dan.
I think this is my favorite Waterford goal. And the obligatory badge kiss was the cherry on the top.
Dans goal here, Waterfords second is my favorite Dan goal.
