The Death of the GGA

I couldn’t stand by and listen to him go on and on any longer

Oooft.

What kind of punter is Bergin?

He’s opinionated anyway. Didn’t he speak out against the marriage referendum at the time? Fair play to him for speaking out but any lad going playing inter county surely knows what he’s signing up for. As said on here before, it’s nonsense for anyone who’s not a student to be committing that much time to a hobby.

True that. I must dig out the posts where some of the fior gaels were launching passionate broadsides against the rugby academy system which actually facilitates education and doing your hobby to a high level whilst paying you.

He’s not too far off the mark regarding… Trying to run your own business and being in an intercounty hurler being an impossible combination in this day and age.

But like @mac said… You’ve a fair idea what you’re signing up for so he can’t have too many arguments.

A lot of truth in what he says but then again he stuck at it for his twenties.

A lot of club players treated like kids now as well. Ultimately it’s a choice you make. Very few lads turn down the chance to play.

He was so upset about the demands of intercounty hurling that he quit that and joined the footballers. I think Kieran might just be sour with the hurling management because they caught him drink driving from Coppers.

386 posts into an utterly pointless thread that @caoimhaoin and @Nembo_Kid didn’t even contribute to.
Bizarre

GGA players detest the GGA now - FFS

nothing new with that. I know of former sigerson greats who now hate the game with a passion

I suppose when you look at the Micko documentary and the way that the GAA is so interwoven into Irish life you begin to understand why the GAA will never die.

@Little_Lord_Fauntleroy

The report states: “It is clear from the responses which were submitted by clubs via the Questionnaire that perhaps as many as ten clubs may cease to exist in ten years, or less in some cases.

Tick tock, tick tock.

Have you ever been to Cork, Waterford or Marino?

You should try exploring your roots mate.

I should

It’s no surprise that the GGA is dying in Laois when you see 15 year old kids getting maimed in senior hurling matches.
