Head up pal, keep going to the gym anyway by the sounds of it your fair lifting. Look at recovery techniques too might tske the mind off for a bit. @glenshane stoked my mind on another thread about wim hof breathing. Try that cant recommend it enough, some euphoria after it
Couldn’t recommend the calm app enough for meditation. €50 for years subscription, helps big time. Also, when you get down off the anti-depressants, go to the drugs and taytos thread. I’ve been on the psilocybin myself for my own anxiety the past 2 weeks and has vanished. Keep the chin up auld son, we’re all here for ya!
Fuckit, that’s tough,
It’s obvious I know, but you should knock booze on the head for the foreseeable, at least the sessions, I know you’re an enthusiastic hiker, get out in nature, up the mountains etc, and go to a sleep professional
Good luck
Christ. The lad’s depressed enough already. Could we not just buy him a new set of headphones?
On the booze lads, I’ve drank once in the last two weeks. I just happened to do the dog on it
I spose you could collect libery caps in the autumn, or buy spores (legally), brown rice and vermiculite and then grow your own. Not that I’d know etc
Could he not just download the audio books instead of going to the library
You most certainly did the dog on it mate
Any word from him?
Been discussed elsewhere. Hopefully he’s getting some help.
He is getting help so fingers crossed.
For real?
I have been thinking of him. I don’t think he’s been on here in days.
On a side note, I’d three pints Friday and a glass of wine, two pints Saturday and a half bottle of wine, started at 1030 am Christmas day and had about three Irish coffees, then about a half bottle of red and a Bailey’s in the evening. Monday I’d two thirds of a bottle of red. Tuesday I felt generally seedy and unhappy though not hungover. Had to drive the lad to and from a party Tuesday night which kept me off the grog. Worked Thurs and today so no booze either, and I feel so much better for it. Was hard not to drink Tuesday or weds, but back at the take it or leave it now again.
I have it in me to have a drink problem. I know it’s there. I keep it on the straight and narrow by no drink on a school night.
I find it quite a depressant in even moderate amounts if it’s three days running. I don’t like this as I love a drink tbh. I love the pub. I love the thought of a good Guinness or red wine or a few pints at a function.
Yes
Excellent
We all love a drink but everything in moderation. Take a break off it for a while and you will not know yourself. I’m looking forward to getting onto the wagon in 2’23, plenty of room up there if you wish a chara
I stay off it five days a week. That’ll do for now.
I do it by not going out to parties or the pub as I know I’ll drink. In the house I just don’t open anything.
That talk is for 23. For now, throw some redbreast in a hip flask and take the kids for a stroll. Youll be half cut by 3pm
